The machine boy Brut shoulder ratchets were apparently pretty bad, so another Onslaught release that doesn't have replacements for those isn't going to be much better than the WK Onslaught, except for possibly with Brut's hip ratchets, which were very weak for my WK version.

Paint flubs aside, the OS version of Warbotron by jinbao is actually extremely solid (individually and as Brut), which was a huge surprise, so I have become less interested in the CHUG scale original.

It occurred to me that if you were to put pledge or epoxy on the areas where the two halves (of the swivel-half of the ratchet housing) close around the base of the main, large ratchet 'cog' - instead of trying to mess with the ratchet itself, you can still increase the amount of friction/tension in this area. After this, if the screws sit strongly enough in their holes (for the relevant half of the ratchet housing), and allow you to keep them sufficiently tightened, you could change the amount of tension in this joint fairly significantly, I expect. I am going to try this in the near future and will see if it helps (I will add more material to the back of the pressure-on-cog pieces to counter the width/thickness change described above).

edit: this was about Brut's shoulder ratchets (didn't mention that), but can also be done to Brut's waist ratchets - I intend to do this work soon.

That's the die cast simplified version if I'm not mistaken? The shoulder pads are one solid piece and no hinge.

I have no idea. Just stumbled across this on taobao today by accident. It's simplified? Any reviews?

Machine Boy just needs to finish the fucking thing. It looks weird with a normal Onslaught.

And those Diecast ones look shitty.

Oh, I really don't care. I'd buy the JinBao if I wanted all of them.

A tan colour would be nice too.

You'd Think Mech fan toys / Machine Boy or whatever they are calling themselves this week woudl finish Onslaught.

(It's likely Wei Jiang as they make the Alternation Man stuff and Machine Boy is another brand they were sold under) - or it might be that Factory that makes the plastic Protectobots and non-wei Jiang coloured Throttlebots... but I digress.

Consiidering the repaint potential here there is different colours of Ruination/Baldigus/Valdigus and G2 Bruticus.

I'd say there would be some interest in a Ruination colour & G2 version so finishing it seems like a good idea to me even before you go nuts and start thinking about Operation Combination colours or Tiger stripes/ desert deco / Urban camo or whatever.

But I like the colour they used and yes something like red would look nice for the Torso - or perhaps magenta.m or perhaps the brown shade the original one's feet and gun are made in.

Besides they did show a mock up of the boxed set - and it makes sense to do the Torso and then move on to some bonkers colour version of the Technobots next.
