I just got this figure, I love it so much! It's really everything I love in a Transformer, great poseability, solid in both modes, quick transformation. I really don't want to lodge any complaints about it but a few nitpicks keep it from being absolutely perfect, those are; the knees need to bend a bit more, waist swivel is missed, wrist swivel is missed, and I really wish the tank turret could rotate and the barrel could aim up and down. It's a good'un.

One of the things that stands out to me is Sky Shadow is easy to enjoy on its own, even if you have no knowledge or interest in the Black Shadow character. It's just this large, imposing black/silver/red badass of a robot. Even the face sculpt accentuates this by putting the eye area in shadow (with the yellow eyes themselves standing out). I want Overlord, but his blue/gray can't compete for visual 'oomph'. It couldn't be more "METAL!!!" even if it had spiked shoulder and knee pads.

Like a lot of TR leaders, removing the titanmaster head to transform is purely optional, which I appreciate.

Vehicle mode(s) are a little stumpy-looking to me. Jet is pretty standard 'jet stuff on top, robot stuff underneath' fare. Tank mode is a solid chunk, but the transformation to and from the robot lower body feels pretty clever. I haven't messed with the base mode yet. The jet nose/sled/weapon/whatever sees superfluous to me, though it does fill out the robot back a bit.

It's neat how solidly built this guy is, with a minimum of holes or hollowed spaces.

Awesome toy, and kicks the absolute hell out of the Generations deluxe (IMO)

I love this figure... except I don't like the transformation.

Why? Well, it mainly has to do with the legs. The legs are the main issue here because they are a pain in the ass, they are way too tight when you plug the legs into the crotch. Then you add into the gun and it makes it even harder to transform from tank to leg mode.

Also, its a pain to push in one of his arms for jet mode... He is the first TF I cut my finger on transforming, and I mean CUT.

I gave mine a couple of the Feral Rex Con's guns to him and they work out at least halfway decent. I also ordered a knife off shapeways but it will two weeks or so before I see it.

I have say that this figure lives up to the hype and then some.

One of the best Transformers that I've handled in a long, long time. He's seriously great.

When I first heard about him, I had no attachment to the character. I felt like he was completely unnecessary. Plus I'm not a fan of leader class figures and above. I had planned to skip him.

Boy am I glad I didn't. This figure is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.

His shield/jet nosecone attachment looks like a sword hilt to me.

I'm really hoping a 3rd party company or a Shapeways seller can make a sword blade to attach to it.

Just separate the tank in half at the turret before removing the gun. It should just pop right out after that.

I too was going to skip him, but then the appeal of Overlord's release (and the need to be used to the Transformation for Overlord, who I'm sure will be different and looks somewhat different than Sky/ Black Shadow) and the fact it's the first time we would have the Warriors Elite in one scale (Black Shadow, Overlord, Sixshot, I doubt we'll get Heretec and Killmaster, at least from Hasbro)

I kinda hope we get a Thunderwing from this mold also

Excellent robot and alternate modes! Managed to transform Sky Shadow without looking at the instruction sheet.

Something I'd like to warn folks about. In the instructions, there's an indication that the wings can swing down further in base mode. They can't. Ended up stressing the hinge a bit on one side, testing it. Don't want anyone else to fall into the same trap.

UNDOCUMENTED/DELETED FEATURE?? --- I noticed there is a half of a hinge (complete with a hole for a pin to insert) under the jet nose, just behind where the drone attaches. It is directly in front of the robot head. I suspect this is either for a retractable landing gear strut, or else for a hinged flap that would've covered up the robot head in jet mode. It must've been removed fairly late in production, since it seems production-ready for a pin to be inserted, but not extra piece exists to install. It's not for Overlord, since that has a completely different jet part. Has anyone noticed the piece in prototype pictures or renders? I'm honestly puzzled what this could have been intended for.

If its what I'm thinking of, I think its for ramp attachment in base mode.

I don't think so. That part of the jet nose is pointed straight up in the air when in basemode.

edit: just found a titan master peg on the inside of the canopy and the open canopy is made to fit under the cannon in base mode, so there is an intended gunner position in the tower. sorry for the low quality pic
