A double-kanabo would've been pretty cool given its mythical connection to oni already, but I can understand why they went with translucent red curved double blades since the lightsaber is a sword and the Japanese equivalent is the katana. Not sure if painting each kanabo end red like blood would've captured the lightsaber design well. The naginata-like curvature takes some getting used to. The other option was perhaps something straighter with wider blades similar to Tsai's double-bladed weapon from the anime movie Ninja Scroll.
I'm pretty happy with it myself but maybe a Kabuki type design would have worked for Maul? Kind of a lot of similarities there already. I also like ABH1979's Oni mask idea too. Something like this: Like I said though, I'm happy with it.
I agree. But, from this point forward I will gladly buy them online rather than sit in 5+ hrs worth of lines to get them like I did this weekend.
More than likely it will be re-released sometime in the future anyways. But than again I want to believe Darth are an will be rereleased too...
Hasbro has to realize how many people want the vintage style carded figures. What they should have done is make an alternate card for Celebration and release the vintage card art as a mass release figure. So they can have a vintage style exclusive but a unique photo for the card.
YMMV Hasbro - Star Wars The Black Series 40th Anniversary Darth Vader - Multi Target : Expect More. Pay Less.
Missed your post but I get what you mean. For me as long as a figure bears at least 80% likeness...I'm ok with the figure. That being said, this Tarken figures resembles more of his RO appearance than his ANH appearance.
Same here. Hasbro really should've given us a 6" scale X-Wing with Pilot Luke at retail, and not the TFA First Order TIE we did end up getting. I realize that it was done because they had to promote the TFA movie, but judging by how hard the FO TIE sat and was clearanced out, I wonder if they'll ever bother with big 6" scale vehicles again (outside of smaller stuff like Luke's land speeder).
Snagged a BS6 Ahsoka and I like her quite a bit. Got her posed up opposite Vader (though I'm sure the new 40th Vader will look much better and more accurate). The NECA clear display stands are pretty useful for having BS6 figures staying upright too.
Star Wars: The Black Series - Battlefront II Inferno Squadron Agent Figure - Only at GameStop The Inferno Pilot is available for Pre-order!
So snagged a cheap rain gear Jyn. Haven't seen RO since the theaters so I can't remember what that little lightsaber looking accessory is, what is it lol?
I think even if it had sold well, I don't see many large 6" scale vehicles being made. They're just too niche. Seems like most action figure collectors, even aficionados of the 3.75" scale, aren't into vehicles as much as they used to be. I love SW vehicles in the 3.75" scale, but I'd pass on an OT X-Wing or TIE Fighter in the 6" scale. Speeder bikes, okay. Starships, no. They're just too big, and I don't have the space. Ahsoka was the first 6" figure I bought, a really nice figure. NECA display stands, huh? I've been looking for a good stand option for 6" figures.
The size of 1:12 vehicles is a double whammy because it makes shipping prohibitive so collectors who live in lousy areas but would otherwise have accepted the price are left out too.
