he looks like a movie-fied (even specifically representing the end of RotF with the Jetfire Packs, in G1 Jetfire's colors) G1 Prime. The guns, faceplate and helmet, split windshield, sunken abs, more organically shaped forearms and thighs all seem to push that way ~ if he had flames and the jetpack parts were black i don't think he'd even look all that G1ish :p

it just seems a weird hybrid with a limited audience (with the subset of TF fans that buy expensive statutes ALREADY being a small audience) was my only point, from a technical standpoint it's really nicely done.

I think it's a nice balance between the G1 and Movie look, but lose the wings.

See, to me, these are incredibly minor alterations. He does look somewhat movie-fied, but he's still clearly G1 Optimus. He still has all the visual traits of G1 Prime, while very little new has been added. It just seems weird to me that someone can be so distracted by things like splitting his windshield or slightly sinking his grill. It's still all G1 Prime traits, just slightly tweaked.

I don\'t really like this.  It looks like Evasion Prime on steroids.  Why would I want this?  It doesn\'t transform, there\'s anyway Evasion Prime (or the Weijang version, for that matter), G1 and film versions, too.

It just seems like a VERY small target costumer group, who want an expensive, non-transforming Optimus Prime that looks like a beefed-up  Evasion Prime.

Are there really that many who will be buying this?

I think statue collectors and toy collectors are a different breed generally. They don't to just be appealing to a small subset of collectors who love transformers and also collect statues.. it just needs to be appealing to someone who likes collecting statues.

It's pretty cool looking, so I don't really see the problem. There are so many other iterations of the character, I don't see how or why there's a problem with this.

That just made me think of another point. There are only so many ways to make Prime, I like to see different iterations of the character. Like batman, I love seeing all of the different takes of the character.

Because -and I'll keep parroting this until people know better- official third party toys are not allowed to transform

Holy scrap I remember that guy from all that concept art! Last I heard of him was designs for ROTF, glad he's still involved with Transformers up to today.

Not only that but he's pretty much the main designer for the movies now, even designed AOE Prime

"One shall stand, one shall fall"

Prime1's new generation Transformers line designed by Josh Nizzi now has an official name and story, Transformers : Age of Time.

The story began when the Ark carrying G1 Optimus Prime and his fellow Autobots was attacked on their route to Earth from Cybertron by Megatron and his evil Decepticons. Both spaceships were sucked into a wormhole and ended up in an alternate dimension. This dimension is the cinematic Transformers universe. Different yet the same, both transformers from the different dimension amalgamated and formed the Superior version of their old self. Hence the New Generation Transformers was formed. To be continued...

Prime 1 Studio is proud to present Superior Optimus Prime from the Age of Time universe.

So it's literally an amalgamation of movie and G1 Prime.

Pretty sure the jetpack is detachable.

(nevermind, just saw the new picture, seems I was right.)
