Oh man you are making me want to buy MANTA Force figures so much right now, to relive my youth..!

I even checked out Bog Rockets on eBay yesterday thanks to the chat on here - surprisingly affordable too! It's probably only a matter of time, but I suspect my wife would kill me...

Yes, and as a result of you expressing your perfectly valid opinions in an "open" forum we now have one of the worst bits of knobfluff asking out loud if the Fandom is Toxic because some of us just can't seem to sing along in tune with the rest of the North Korean State Choir when we keep fucking up the chorus of praise for anything and everything MP, like we're supposed to. And it's making the poor dear's teeny peckers droop because it drove Dean Fucking Ml away.

I can't comment on that thread because most of the posters are on ignore. Or are now. That was lucky. But I am voting "yes" to toxic, just not in the way that Wankwit thinks it is.

Truthfully, comments about this being "in every random" don't ring true any more because I can't think of another hobby of mine where the adherents are getting quite this invested to the point of total idiocy. Not even UK Star Wars collecting has a Monk-like need to defend any and everything Star Wars in the same way I'm reading stuff here.

Some people just don't like/have to buy everything to make others feel better. That's insane.

It's a fucking £150+ toy, not a triple heart bypass.

That this is even a thing is a bit above and beyond sense.

    And rest.

It's so tempting to wade in their and pick apart fundamental assumptions that thread is based on, but equally I know that way leads to madness. On one hand I'm glad I'm sat in a pub in Saltaire, with only my phone -which slows down posting while I use my thumb to type like the old has been I am - connecting me to all this. On the other hand my food won't come for another 20 minutes and w'or lass has just popped out to a shop...
@Maz i'm sorry the thread with your review got taken over by utter bell endery, to the point where you have to justify your budget to a stranger. Cognitive dissonance. Good grief. Glad that people aren't blowing things out of all proportion.

Sounds like a playground for my cantankerous self! I'm over tired, fuelled by cheap wine and simmering with fury at having been lied to this morning. I'm going for a ciggy, but I'll take the blame for any suggestions I like, and I'll mention no names. Trolls need trolling.
I'd better calm down. Nine years I've been trying to get a deluxe 'CHUG' Smokescreen. I thought it was my day. Fuck my old boots.

Have a browse of gaming and/or gfx card forums. Football forums can be just as bad and I never went back to he-man.org as I couldn't bare it but tbf tfw is probably as bad, if not worse now.

Everywhere has utter bells, especially where there is a choice. It's just the way it is.

    Tru dat. Every. Single. Hobby.
    Par example...

Gather the good souls to your circle, punt the sh*tbirds into a good Ka-BLOCKing. Ya don't bring anything to the table, ya don't get to sit at it.

Speaking of sh*tbirds, what kind of motherlickin' idiotfool could love a stupid, unposeable brick of a figure that by it's very existence is an affront to modern toy design, I ask you, eh? Eh?

    [IMG] [IMG]

Alright, the sarcasm isn't entirely justified as clearly I am a rare beneficiary of fantastic scissor-hip QC but I really think that the Breakdown/SS mould is a tiny bit of grand design, overly maligned due to the prevalence of said loose hips sinking his ship, and the more frequent these days Hasbro paint deco fail also exacerbated by the hivemind echo chamber.
Yes, it's true he's got the ol' tiny thigh/anime shin problem, the plastic colour could literally have been a bit more solid for it's own good and the lower legs are indeed hollow but for that CW Sunny gives an alternately & additionally articulated combiner arm, the only extra ankle articulation besides the Rook variations and the prettiest of the modern Sunny faces. He's a premium paintjob and solid hip QC away from being a classic, if only Hasbro hadn't gone with that godawful Alternator-ish chest plate and just given him & Breakdown a faux canopy chest from the start - I mean it's not like it hid the remould/re-use plan even as that was obvious from the off with the HFG and it's additional integration points!?!

Basically what I'm saying is, everybody's wrong but me.

Picked up Hotrod on my lunch break. Was ringing up at £18.97! Luckily the sales assistant fixed the price for me so no worries.

Bank Holiday, the wife and kids are out... So obviously it's time to take toys into the garden. (Apologies for the billion pictures.)

Can almost ignore the lack of ankle tilt.......some nice red specs would be the cherry on the cake though.

Luckily I don't frequent most of what you've listed and I gave up on He-man.org long ago because it was actually pretty dull, but nowhere else I do frequent (toys/films/general Berkeley) has quite the same objectionable, neuralgic and baffling lack of tolerance to dissenting views as is in evidence in several threads currently on this Board.

That complete strangers feel able to talk down to somebody/anybody about their finances - even after it's been explained in painful detail why - over the purchase (or not) of a FUCKING TOY is beyond unreasonable and into unbalanced.

This place has that and I've never experienced it anywhere else. Thank Goodness. Luckily it isn't in every thread by any means, and it does seem to be a subset of MP Collecting that is frankly the worst. That anyone could express admiration for a writer/poster then swing that around 180° on the basis of a couple of comments tends to say more about that person than any of the crap they are directing.

Prediction: the Toxic Fandom thread will be too toxic to enter again, without any hint of irony.

But the dude hectoring in psuedo-scientific fashion about MP Dinobot Fail!!! Is worth a read and chuckle, even if only to highlight precisely what I've been ranting about.

Forgot about the Marvel v DC fanboys too!

Yeah that thread is hilarious, I can't figure out if he's a troll or if he's really pissed off though.

I think the tragic thing is that guy is for real.

Marvel V DC is pretty easy to rise above (and ignore) when you like both. And I do.

Thank fuck Porn doesnt require this sort of debate. It's all tongue in cheek.
