This is why Bay annoys me so much. I HATED that childish 'girl power' trailer. This looks incredible.

If I had to guess it's because this particular incarnation of the quintessons don't have five faces it seems Quintessa is a combination of different ideas and characters, quintus prime, G1 Unicron, and I think the Vok. It's probably best not to expect the G1 quintessons it's pretty clear the creators are something else entirely inspired by the G1 quintessons.

 

I think they'd never change his name somehow...it's like Batman wake up from death and said he's got another name now, kids would not buy it.

Maybe, but name changes have been a thing in Transformers since G1.

 

It shows quite a bit but nothing to spoil the plot for the most part.They outdid themselves over dotm imo(and aoe idc what anybody says i kind of enjoyed it).They managed to put a lot of scenes in there to hype up the movie w/o revealing the plot.I mean we know opitmus turns evil,megatron has a "gang" of sorts(from previous trailer) and dragons and mystical shit will be in the movie and what they did is just show us more of that and nothing really else which is a damn good thing i can say i am a lot more hyped then i originally was(i was hyped at the announcement as a huge tf fan and tf movie fan[what can I say] so that may tell you something aka go watch it!!!

 

But we know from the very start that he was "reprogrammed".Why else would optimus prime the big bot himself turn evil?If he wasn't reprogrammed and turned evil by himself i would hate the movie.How and why he was reprogrammed we don't know at all,which is an amazing thing and kind of cancels out your statement

 

Can totally see a revised \'One shall stand, One shall fall\' scene from the first movie where Optimus and Megatron are fighting. 

 

Its fun reading everyone's theories because they're actually cool and clever.

But there's no fucking way this movie will actually be that good. It'll have cool "moments" but you all are coming up with a better movie than what Bay could ever give us.

The moment Optimus Prime shot Frasier at point blank with his giant robot gun, I said Fuck You to these movies forever.

 

Now that moment was understandable though. Optimus had formed a close bond with Cade and when he saw his life in danger, he did the one thing he swore he would never do in order to save the life of a human he cares for. Optimus didn't know that Attinger was the head of Cemetery Wind, remember the human he set out to kill was Joshua Joyce because he thought he was the one responsible. But he spared Joshua because after Joshua gloated that the Earth doesn't need him or the Autobots anymore, he felt it was better to leave the Earth and let the human suffer for their consequences, especially after gaining knowledge that Megatron was alive in the form of Galvatron. As far as Optimus knew when he killed Attinger, he was killing a human that was threatening the life of his friend and he refused to lose another after having so many die by Cemetery Wind's hands.

Sorry for going off topic a bit. Just felt I had to explain that because admittedly I was angry at the plot point too until I grew to understand the story meaning behind it.

I'm sure someone's said but there is 35 pages in this thread so...

What colour is Optimus' eyes whilst he's fighting Megatron and when he's cutting off those Infernocons' heads? I'm colour-blind and have great difficulty telling the difference between blue and purple (this movie is going to be a nightmare).

 

OP's eyes are purple when Megs pushes him against the floor (?) and when he beheads what look like the Infernocons.

 

They're purple in both scenes.

This definitely implies Megatron is siding with Autobot, although, I can't really explain the Infernocons as I thought they'd fight alongside evil Optimus. So this begs the question, who's fighting on evil Optimus' side?

 

They're purple. Though some of us are not sure if it'll be that way in the film since in another shot that seems to take place around the same time, pacifically when Optimus saves Cade and Vivian, his eyes are blue. They seem to change color quite frequently throughout the trailer.
