Is it worth it to get the G2 set for one of the teams if you don't have all the members? I'm still missing one Aerialbot and three Stunticons. Plus four Protectobots, but were they ever going to give us a G2 Defensor?

    i say grab them.

i think there is a small chance they might, but it'll most likely be a convention exclusive or platinum boxset.

This is where it gets very subjective, personally I'm not a fan of G2's crack pipe colours, but if you like that's great, but be weary it may have some mold degradation and you don't get any form of Alpha Bravo the great and powerful.

You definitely get more bang for your buck on the box sets but I personally like the G1 versions better. If you can find a box set cheap absolutely go for it.

If you don't care about colors, maybe?

I don't think any standalone CW limb is more expensive than even the cheapest G2 set.

(Also I'm a bad source on "what's good" as CW/UW hit me right in the feels and I now have all of the American teams.)

i would recommend the G2 mentor box set but that's only for the robot mode not combined mode.

I've got G1 Superion, G1 Bruticus, and G1 Defensor. My son's got G2 Menasor and Optimus Maximus.

I'd rank Superion the best. Great combined mode, with the only drawback being skinny thighs. Individual robots and alt-modes are strong too; as far as I'm concerned, there's not a weak mold in the bunch. G1 Bruticus is great too. The remolding to the torso makes it hold apart better than Defensor. With Defensor, the tabs that hold the chest plate onto Hotspot's arms keep detaching, and it's tough to move the arms without shifting everything out of position. The only downside to Bruticus (and this applies to Defensor too) is that he has a tendency to slouch forward. I normally tilt one of the legs back to compensate and get him facing more level. As far as the individual robots and alt-modes, the Brawl mold is by far the weakest; Defensor gets the edge in that category.

Mensor/OM share the same weaknesses. The torso proportions are... odd, and you can't do too many poses with the legs that don't result in the gesalt falling over. Blackjack/Rodimus don't peg into the chest very well. The individual robots and alt-modes are good. The Breakdown/Sunstreaker mold is only a notch above the Brawl mold, and my son's Mirage, but not Dragstrip, has astonishingly weak wrists. The G2 colors really pop though. Despite the aforementioned issues, I think both sets, while not as good as the first three, are still pretty nice. My son loves them!

CW was my favorite line in a very long time. I own no Unite Warriors toys, but it might be easier to get those at this late date.

I'll go over my top five:

    1. CW Superion: Hands down my favorite combiner of the line. You'd be better off getting the UW version right now, or the G2 version on the cheap.

    2. CW Bruticus: My favorite Decepticon combiner.

    3. CW Computron: Get this guy while he's cheap, but get both of the PE add on kits. Or get the UW version if that's easier.

    4. CW Devastator: This guy is big, complicated, and not cheap, but worth it.

    5. Tied between CW Victorian and CW Defensor: Vicky's essentially a retool of Defensor. If you don't mind the colors, she's worth it.

Honorable Mention: CW Betatron: If you can't find or afford anything else, standalone Scattershot is still cheap, and if you can get yourself four limbs, you can make your own combiner.

    Good luck and happy hunting!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Bruticus slouches like he really doesn't want to be there. "Bruticus not want to fight. Bruticus just stand here and sulk..." :lol

I would recommend either uw or cw computron. Each have their good and their bad points, but both give a good assortment of molds. I feel uw is better overall but cw has the new hands and feet, which are more stable than perfect effect addons.

Another option, if money isn't a factor, grand galvatron. He's my only regret on not picking it up.

No matter what make sure you pick up a deluxe groove mold, also offroad is really fun for a new character.

The G2 box sets are a great deal if you can stand the colors. The stunticons are really nice individually, the meansor torso is trashe though.

Swindle needs a pile of parts to sell. After he's picked through the best for himself, of course, it always pays to be sufficiently well armed in case a deal with a customer goes sour. ;)

Indeed. :D  You can put his gun on the front of his arm, alla his G1 self, but it limits his arm articulation.
