Just like with iZombie last week, this premier was simply outstanding. I loved how they started both stories off with the way they ended them last season, but from different camera angles. That was great.

I really hope Kim is not trying to sabotage herself with Mesa Verde, because regardless of the reasons for her acquring them, she needs them. She needs to take advanture of her situation and turn it into a postive direction.

I do feel bad for Jimmy because he is now regretting the things he did in the last season, which I'm curious to see where this leads to.

A shame we will probably have to wait until next season to see what happens next to Gene. I really thought he was going to help the kid escape.

My favorite scene of the episode was when Mike was tearing about his car. The way they shot that bit and the music that played with it was impressive. Although, I loved the shot with the lighting bolt in the background. Curious to know if that was intentional or not.

    Looking forward to next week.

Wonder what Chuck is gonna try to use the tape for if he's not going to use it in court.

The post breaking bad saul sequences are just so interesting, I really hate that we only are getting them drip fed at the beginning of every season :lol

Disbarment of Jimmy. He already said he isn't going to do a crminal trial or go against Mesa Verde. The only other use is to disbar Jimmy thus Chuck gets rid of Jimmy as a lawyer. Then we get Saul.

I'm not sure it would work that way though. Just changing his name doesn't change him from being disbarred.

    Chuck, you evil bastard.

I've not hated a character this bad in a long time. I understand his motivations to some degree, but beyond the whole "I went to a real school and look at my schlub brother pull this off..." thing, he's just oozing slimy evil.

Jimmy's methods are unorthodox and probably even immoral, but he does do it for moral reasons. I'm not sure the ends justify the means, but at least his heart is in the right place. Chuck never had a heart to begin with.

And yet Jimmy still has one. That makes Chuck even more evil, if possible.

Nah, Chuck isn't evil. He's just vindictive, but because we love Jimmy so much, it's easy to peg Chuck as a "villain". But he really isn't. He's the big brother that got to where he is by the book while having years of experience with a little brother who always took questionable shortcuts, so he's trying to send a reality check. And, to be fair, rightly so after what Jimmy pulled. Because, remember, everything Chuck is asserting about Jimmy IS actually TRUE. Everything from the doctored documents to being outside the copy shoppe as he (Chuck) collapsed. All true.

Anyway, that was a great season opener. All the trademark sprawling desert shots, the meticulous elongated detail processes of people doing... things, the anticipation building, etc... everything we've come to expect from this show. That episode could have been 4 hours and I wouldn't have blinked an eye.

Here's the thing, Chuck may be in the right when it comes to his viewpoint of Jimmy, but Chuck is the reason Jimmy is who he is. Jimmy worked his ass off to get his degree and to set himself on the right path like he promised Chuck he would after the Sunroof incident. Chuck got super pissed and jealous and intentionally held Jimmy back. He never had any faith in his brother, he never wanted him to succeed, so he made sure to make his life as miserable as he could, but did it from the shadows because he is a worthless coward.

That is why Chuck IS the villain here. He belittled his brother for going on the straight and narrow because he wants to always be in the right. He wants Jimmy to be a loser forever so he can look like the big man.

While with the information we CURRENTLY have, I would agree; but we have to remember this show has a LOT of misdirection. For all of S1 we think Howard was, when Chuck is really pulling the strings. Now for the past season we assume Chuck was because we have insight to some of the vile string pulling he's done that is still in tune with the limits of the law.

However, before we get the full turn from Jimmy to Saul I think we are going to get a final insight on a missing part of the puzzle - what happened to Rebecca. We assume she left Chuck once his "disease" started kicking in but what if it was something far worse. What if it was something Jimmy did that either forced her away or possibly killed her, and Chuck's disease isn't what drove her away, but a side effect of her being gone. I really wonder if whatever that part of the mystery is, will really make us hate Jimmy and call him out as the piece of shit that he degrades to, or even believe that he deserves what happens to him.

It was a great Season opener, but with all the Los Pollos Hermanos promotions going on, I really can't wait until Gus is finally back in the picture. The Mike scenes were spectacular, they conveyed so much with little to no dialog, the show exceeds better than any other show I've seen on using the "show, don't tell" rule of film making.

So did anyone else watch last night's episode? It was utterly fantastic. Not only did a lot happen, but we got several Breaking Bad characters back last night. Of course the highlight was Gus, which meant his lacky was going to show up, but I did not even considering Saul's secretary.

Poor Jimmy. The dude just keeps getting betrayed by his brother left and right. Chuck is an even bigger monster that I thought he was before. At least now we know that Rebecca left him, which serves his worthless hide right. He makes the Cartels look like good guys. I hope he dies by the end of the show.

The stuff with Mike continued to be great. I really think this is an unknown job interview Gus has set up to see how far Mike is willing to go. It was pretty badass to make you sit on the edge of your seat waiting for Gus to show up and then have it occur very slowly and out of focus for a while. That was truly outstanding.

I wish I could just watch the whole season now though. The constant end credits are killer. :-D

Yeah, another fantastic episode. I guess that goes without saying at this point, though, and will be stated with each episode still to come... as usual.

Absolutely LOVED the return of Gus' little henchman dude from Breaking Bad whose throat he slits in front of Walt & Jesse, and Saul's secretary from Breaking Bad apparently being hired as far back as Wexler-McGill.

And on a "meta" score, props to that whole exchange of said secretary looking at th enew wall logo and stating that "McGill" looks a little crooked at the end... to which Jimmy looks at it confidently and restates "yeah... a little crooked". Brilliant.

And despite how obvious the episode played out where everything around Gus was concerned, I was still happy they didn't necessarily ruin it in advance by having Giancarlo Esposito's name appear in the beginning credits. Cool of them to leave it out and save it for the first end credit.

Oh, and Kim asking Jimmy for a dollar so that she's now his lawyer and can protect their conversations... a little trick he picked up that he pulls later as Saul in Breaking Bad.

AND how we see Mike buying what ends up being his getaway car in Breaking Bad... the same one he drives to the desert when he's gonna kill Walt and Jesse jumps ovr to stop him.

Goddamn the writing is off the hook, especially with these kinds of ongoing easter eggs,

So I just rewatched the first two episodes to get ready for tongiht's episode and reallized that freaking Chuck at the play button pushed down on the tape player so that it would start playing the moment Ernie put the batteries in. What a conniving sack of shit.

He is an even bigger sack of crap now.

Loved Jimmy's response to Chuck that he'd die alone and in pain.

Tonight's episode was just as fantastic. Everything that went down with Jimmy today was great, but Mike easily stole the show. That scene between him and Gus was hands down fantastic. A lot of suspense and tension in it. Also, wasn't that the doctor from the episode when Gus and Jesse went down to Mexico? Good god this season is just laying on the cameos. Nevertheless, my favorite scene was when Mike had his sniper rifle. That scene was so damn good with its incredible score playing as it kept you guessing as to whether or not he was going to shoot the guys. I did not expect the outcome we got though.

If three years ago someone had told me Mike was going to be a big part of BCS when it came out, I probably would have laughed and said, "Mike? Really? Sure, he was a great character in BB, but what could they really do with him here?" WOW! He has been equally as good in this thing to the point that whether they wanted to name this show after Jimmy or Mike, it wouldn't have mattered. In fact, sometimes it feels like I am watching two different shows that happen to take place in the same universe and are being aired in segments.

The slow burn in this series is fantastic.
