Who said that? From the day BBTS put Megatron up for preorder, it has said below the description that it would have the orange plugs.

Like prior Masterpieces, it depends if the vendor got their stock from Hasbro Asia. From another site:

"As with the other collector coins, these are a Hasbro Asia exclusive to be included with TakaraTomy's Megatron release in non-Japanese Asian Markets. Typically, site sponsor Robotkingdom includes these coins with their applicable releases."

I'm going to pick one up from eBay or elsewhere at some point. They're going for about $20 now.

This thread has gone on forever so I wanted to ask- does TF source put the orange plug on? Can anyone confirm that?

I'm still in love with this thing.. I've transformed it back and forth twice so far, once with directions, once without.

And I have three tips for people who are a little worried.

1.. take the face sculpt off before transforming it. I did it just to prevent sratching.

2.. transform it without a chest piece. As with #1 it'll help prevent scratching and I also found it makes it MUCH easier to swing out the barrel when transforming it back into robot mode.

3.. it's been mentioned before.. if the hips are really tight, loosen the screw on the back of the crotch area. I transformed it the first time without doing it, but I did it for the second time and it made a world of difference.

Oh.. and I still want a new prime lol.

I got mine in from Amazon Japan today. It didn't have an orange plug. I kinda hate that DHL was the only option for international delivery, but it made it to me no problems.

Got mine from HLJ today after going to the PO to pick them up since the delivery man didn't even attempt to find my house. Must have been a substitute driver.

Some notes to those receiving Megatron from HLJ: I got two of them. I can confirm that the gun barrel plug is not even close to being tight, but the barrels on both of mine had glue residue in them, so they at least attempted to glue them. I was able to remove the residue with some GooGone on a q-tip. I mention this since the glue residue may make the suppressor fit extra tightly. The suppressor plug is definitely glued in pretty tight, but it is some form of rubber cement (orangish in color), not super glue. The inside of the supressor barrel has very slight ridges, but it is smooth enough for the cement to adhere. Using pliers to apply even rotational pressure to the plug while holding the suppressor by hand, I got them both out lickety split, but one was a lot tighter than the other. I was able to peel off most of the extra glue with my fingernails, but some GooGone was needed to get ride of the residue (note: the inside suppressor barrel is painted, and extra rubbing started turning the q-tip grey; use another material besides GooGone).

After getting the plugs out and adhesive out of the way, I was able to admire the figure. Two words: most excellent. Takara really dropped the mic with this one. My only issue is that this Megatron is not the coward from the cartoon that yelled "Decepticons, retreat!" at the first sign of Autobot aggression. He looks like he could take on all of the Dinobots single-handedly. Very powerful, with an air of majesty. Now I don't really care that the Decepticons are outnumbered in the MP ranks. Megatron has arrived to kick tailpipe and chew beryllium bologna, and he's all out of bologna.

I got through the transformation just fine using the instructions, with no signs of major paint damage. Only two places where I was sweating bullets (pun intended). First was when you need to fold out the barrel bracket in one of the first steps. I watched a video, and it moved pretty easily, but mine was scary tight. The other was the last step where you fold the arms to make the sides of the gun. The arm with the safety did not want to go into place due to the difference in molding on the handle. After some fiddling, I finally got everything lined up, and gently applied the suppressor. I 'pew pewed' around with him a bit afterward, much to the chagrin of my wife ("How much did that cost us this time?"). One of them will forever stay in bot mode.

Looking forward to spending more time with him in the coming days. He will be hard to top, no matter what the next new mold release is. Imagine how great the Constructicons will be if they can get this lighting to strike twice.

Lucky you lol. It was my first experience from them (coming from amiami to near Philadelphia Pa). It made it from Japan to Ohio and rather than being sent to the east coast, it was sent to Seattle.

So, when it arrived (only a day late luckily) the guy knocked on my door once, didn't ring the bell, but I got to the door FAST and he was already almost done filling out the "sorry we missed you" thing. Oh well.

What I dislike most about DHL and USPS is that you can't electronically sign for a package and authorize its release.

    Ebay:
"I would have waited an eternity for this..." and/or "It's over, Prime!" to go with the movie battle damaged parts.

DHL you can do it electronically. I had Megatron and Grapple left. Good points about the transformation, one of the big causes of scuffs is too much pressure. I noticed in Wotafa's review he uses a pretty light touch during transfomation. I think that's how I got the scuff on the side of his head pressing to hard on the sides to lock the pistol in.

The more y'all transform MP-36 back and forth, the moar it delivers awesomeness and satisfying enjoyment.

Just don't break it by being too purposely rough on it. Take your time to analyze the rather straight-forward origami engineering.

Don't EVER buy from Nippon-Yasan. See post I made a couple of pages back. Pre-Ordered Megatron MP36 and 3 other Transformers Masterpiece "Pre-orders". I.e. paying pre-order price on everyone which is cheaper than not doing a pre-order.

Made payment recently for the whole cart right before the deadline for Megatron as his deadline got moved up a month. And later got message that payment "failed". They don't tell me anything. And no one on my end shows any attempt of Nippon-Yasan to try and process a charge. So something on Nippon-Yasan end.

Their customer service sucks and they told me to place a "new" order and pay full price on all 4 items. Also this new higher price is more than just buying here in the states, no way.

Well I realized that payments on 3 items of my pre-order aren't due until later in the month. I told them that I thought they didn't get enough "pre-order" items in, and they were all "sold" (Megatron MP36) by the time I sent my payment, and I thought the reason my "pre-order" payment failed was because they probably didn't get enough in and had already sold out a "pre-order" item in my cart. As they still wouldn't tell me what caused a payment failure.

Also on these "ticket" messages, each response they like to try to mark it "resolved" or something so you can't keep making responses on the same ticket. They keep trying to close it out with each response they make.

So I told them to prove me wrong on my theory by letting me pay the "pre-order" price on my other 3 items in my pre-order bundle since the payment due dates on those 3 items isn't until later in the month.

And their very short response was just a quotation from their "Terms and Conditions of Use" under their "payment" section in that they can cancel, suspend or do whatever they want with your order. Then they marked it "resolved" so I couldn't respond. Will have to start a new ticket.

That was their response to my accusation that my payment failed because the pre-order items, or a pre-order item in my bundle was under stocked for everyone who had placed "pre-orders" and such the "pre-orders" item or items were sold out when I had sent my payment for all 4 items.

They still won't tell me why my payment "failed". And it makes no sense why they won't let me pay "pre-order" prices on my other 3 other Pre-orders that the payment isn't due on those 3 until the end of the month. I'm guessing they already sold them all at the "pre-order" prices because they didn't get enough in, and thus why they are telling me to place a "new" order for all 4 items with them and pay full price. Why the hell else would they force me to pay "full price" when 3 of the "pre-order" items due date for payment isn't until the end of the month?

I couldn't find it anywhere.. oh well, I'll have to remember this the next time I order from amiami.

I should say that I like that when they leave the slip it's easy to just sign it and they'll drop it off.. also on the slip it gave me the option of never having to sign anymore... so I guess I won't find out next time lol.

Does anyone know a paint that would match the black on his hip skirt area? I was looking at mine more closely and it's got scratches in several places there and on the black painted part of the legs. Dunno why they didn't just mold that in black plastic...
