I'm pretty sure Transformers had nothing to do with the Titanic.

And you know what? I have no problem with that.

The most core concepts of Transformers are that
    1) they are alien robots that think and feel like humans, although of course due to their alien origins they rarely see thing exactly like we do.
    and
    2) they can turn into vehicles, mechanical animals, machines, etc. to fight, travel, or hide.
Of course, the factions and wars are important in most all fiction, but there is certainly room for more peaceful or post-war stuff in Transformers fiction IMHO.

I have no problem with Transformers showing up throughout Earth's past because they are robots in disguise. One of the worst ideas about Transformers fiction is that Transformers should only show up in the 20th Century and later on when humans have advanced machinery. Why can't Transformers disguise themselves in appearances that appear more primitive or primeval? Furthermore, not all alternate modes are for the purpose of disguise. Some are for transportation, others are for weaponry and battle purposes, and others may be to intimidate enemies or appear friendly to others.

I would much rather the Transformers movies have some Ancient Aliens type stuff than simply be Autobots and NEST fighting Decepticons over Energon or other resources. Also, Transformers having a role in the past is one of the movies' things. I'd rather them go forward with that in some capacity than abandon it entirely.

As for alt modes, I'd love to see a gigantic Pretender Transformer disguised as ancient or medieval ruins. That would be sweet.

You know what, I've long held the view that Bay loads his films with messages both related and non related to the films, however I was watching AOE last night and at the beginning when she sees the metal dinosaur and he hits it with the hammer and asks her what does she think.....I may be wrong, but when she says "history is about to change" I think that's a direct reference to everything that's previous in the movies and everything that we know historically in transformers lore....

I still think that the dotm space bridge for cybertron and the ending where it vanished into a hole could be explained by earth actually vanishing into a hole and the key to 'rebooting' the films was earth entering an alternate dimension where things are slightly different. Including the transformers history.

The idea of an "alternate dimension" seems too much.
I don't think that they are trying to make a reboot of the franchise.
A lot of people is confused by the current lore, and they want to clarify things and expand their mythology starting from this fifth chapter, interlinking the previous movies, but without forcing new fans to watch the previous films to understand the new one.
So, they are going to show different points of the mythology:

    - the origins of Cybertron (the AllSpark/ the Creators)

    - the history of the Primes (The Original Seven/ Sentinel Prime)

    - the backstories of Optimus and Megatron before the war and the begining of the conflict (The Fallen/ Sentinel Prime/ the AllSpark)

    - thousands years of history of Transformers on our planet (the Seekers/ the Sun Harvester/ Megatron/ the Knights of Cybertron/ the Ark/ Bumblebee)

Obviously not everything will be totaly explained in The Last Knight, but the point is to put a start for the future sequels and spin-offs.

That's why one of my favorite TF stories is the G1 Hearts of Steel. It's interesting to see the Bots and Cons in a time other than our recent or present time or the future.

Well there's now 13 primes according to the app, plus we are getting to see another prime in the last knight....maybe alpha trion?

The way I mean what I wrote is not a 'full' reboot, but an evolution of the story and it's the events of dotm that created a fork in earths future and they've just transported a planet across space and time that was actually done....there's no way us landing in a different dimension than what we started in is too much. It's something that doesn't even have to be shown, just explained, as the visual side of it can be seen at the end of dotm.

It's definitely not too much to imagine, it helps distance the franchise from the previous trilogy but allows them to open it up any way they want. we have Optimus gone bad megatron maybe being an anti hero.....and apparently there's a voyager class megatron that has the autobot logo on the box!??

The App was made only to promote the movie, it doesn't explain nothing about the cinematic lore, it take the great part of the informations from other sources (the Aligned universe mostly). The whole App is made for the fans, it is all about marketing, the whole Transformers franchise, from G1 to Robots in Disguise.

The whole idea behind the Writers Room is the intention to EXPAND the current mythology. They want the movies to interlink between each other and be coherent, to built a solid Cinematic Universe, more clear and full of stories to tell. They don't want to distance from the previous trilogy, they want to expand what we already know from the previous movies.

I personally can't stand the Ancient Aliens gig. Before 20th century, sure, that's great. I rather liked Jetfire's haphazard effects on history ( didn't he accidently cause the Gulf of Tonkin?) When it gets into Transformers being behind everything from the moon landing to the extinction of the dinosaurs....the pyramids and the knight's templar, it's over doin' it for me.

For the bolded part...thats why I'd love to see a wooden boat transformer...preferably a pirate ship. Something other than metal.

    Yet!

A glacier didn't really make the hole. A Decepticon was hiding out as part of the hull of the ship, woke up and realized a bunch of humans were walking on him, and made a run for it.

I have a question: I recently downloaded the app, but I have problems with some parts, like the News, the Lore, the Media. They don't show nothing. The only part that is functional is regarding the app's games.
How can I solve the problem?

    Let's not forget Jetfires claim too;
"My farher, he was a wheel! The first wheel! And do you know what he transformed into? Nothing! But he did so with honor! Dignity, damn it!" :lolol

Or maybe he was just rambling.

Considering the hefty amount of Marketing that has taken place so far?? Cmon man! They are taking this much more seriously now, and I'm sorry but what you are saying is that they'd promote the cinematic universe and writers room, market the hell out of the movie franchise then discredit it the next minute with stuff that doesn't make sense.....I think your wrong and they're slowly merging all the histories into one ala the app, and then going to use that to move the franchise forward.

Let me ask a question if it was to promote the film, as the app was called after the film, then why does it currently not match up with the movies timeline? Yet it was named after the movie.....what exactly is that 'promoting' about the film?? I don't believe they're in the habit of courting negative press or producing counter intuitive promotional material? So this is something that is slipping under the radar for a lot of you but actually could be highly indicative of something to come, heck everyone expects the last knight to be unveiled in the movie it might take years for it to be unveiled yet.....they've been way too serious for this to be downplayed as some bizarre promotion that means nothing?

I just always assumed that was his version of "going to school uphill both ways".
