I prefer updated IDW designs, not a fan of old school G1. This is why I don't collect Masterpiece
With the exception of Combiner Wars Devastator, Sky Lynx, and some of the legend figures I found the whole line underwhelming. Thrilling 30 & TR was/is far better

I've really been enjoying the RID toys.

Granted I've either been able to pick up the hasbro Warriors for like $10 or I've gotten the Takara ones for like $20ish, but I think it's a really great line full of cool design choices and a good emphasis on transformation. The transformations are all pretty simple but are very effective at changing the modes in surprising ways. The new decepticon designs are amazing and I really hope that Steeljaw's pack gets finished out as warriors at some point.

Agreed - the Generations Wheeljack was always too weird and squat for my liking. CW Wheeljack is a little short but he's much better looking, and with some paint or Reprolabels he's all set. (Fully agreed on the vehicle mode, too - looks way more like a Stratos than whatever his CHUG toy was supposed to be, despite the false chest in robot mode.)

TR triggerhappy looks soo boring and I have no interest in ever getting him. I can respect his head however, that looks nice. If he was a titan master pack I could see getting him then, depending on little vehicle.

Agreed. Bought him solely for creating a custom character from him.

Well he's coming again in two similar yet different flavors, so maybe Misfire or Slugslinger will grab your attention?

Misfire almost. I would like more pictures to make certain. Love the pink but for some reason I don't like his legs. I'm hopeful.

I think that the original RID 1.0 molds were not really good. They were overcomplicated shellformers for the most part, and had poor design choices for most weaponry, chrome that was really easy to wear, clear plastic parts in bad places that facilitated breakage, and rubber tires that cracked faster than G1 rubber parts. The best toys in the RID 1.0 line were the repaints from OTHER lines.

I agree wholeheartedly. The RID1x line is one of my three primary focuses alongside Generations and now Movieverse.

Which leads me into my own (seemingly) unpopular opinion. I really do prefer the green on the original ROTF Voyager Megatron than the new silver deco.

It's just got a vibe for me that I like. It's probably the nostalgia of how much I wanted this toy but never had it when I was 11.

Die-cast almost always makes a figure worse. I had to rebuy a Binaltech as an Alternator because of the useless die-cast gimmick. It almost always makes the figure more fragile, either because of easily chipped paint or added stress to the joints.

When a figure has die-cast, my HOPE is that it doesn't detract from the figure. I can't think of any figure actually improved by it.

This will be about as popular as Norovirus in a Submarine: I don't like MP36 at all. On the evidence of a whole 15 minutes in hand I'm selling him. Pronto.

I expect the missiles any second now......

Even if Shockwave MP failed in the colors and plastic, it has better engeenering than the 3P ones.

Oh there's little doubt that MP Shockwave has outstanding engineering. I would expect nothing less from TT even if the end result leaves something to be desired aesthetically to some people. But the 3P ones are great in their own right, and personally couldn't see myself replacing my Quakewave, who feels more solid than MP Soundwave.

Speaking of Masterpiece, I don't particularly care for the cartoon accurate to a fault direction the line has been going. I like the touches of toy details and such that were present before Tracks, and I'd prefer that the figures weren't utterly coated in paint so I'd have less worry about chipping it or tolerance issues caused by painted surfaces rubbing together in tight spaces.

I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion or not, but I hate MP Cheetor's whiskers. While so far they'll more or less flex back into position once he's back in beast mode, I always worry they'll be permanently damaged at some point, but I don't want to take the head off every time. (even though that might actually be wise so as to not scratch the paint on his nose)

    I don't like chrome.

I know the G1 toys had chrome, which I don't care about because I didn't have any of the G1 toys, I didn't like them, and I have no nostalgia in general. Chrome looks out of place and makes every toy with it look gaudy and disgusting. It doesn't go with any of the other kinds of color application and stands out like a turd in a fishbowl. Everytime I get something with chrome, I paint over it with silver, which looks a ton better.

Thunnderblast is a great toy, no matter if it is shellformer, the alt mode is great and so the gimmick rockets does.

Megatron doesn't look that good, I agree. There's too much sacrificed in the gun mode and he ended up looking like he was shattered.
