And big hug to @banjoted. I'm sure the little one is going to have some really good time.

@banjoted I really sympathise with your situation, I couldn't imagine being apart from my three, but as others have said I'm sure your daughter will have a good time, and will love to tell you all about it when she comes home. :)
    Take care.

A question for @banjoted and @Sixo - With FT Phoenix's stand attachment, did you find that once you replace the adaptor section on - say - Sovereign/Soar's stand to match the Phoenix figure, it can only support his weight when the jet is pointed downwards? I tried installing the adaptor the other way but it won;t fit into the stand that way.

Gonna make for some unfavourable angles in jet mode photography, but it is what it is.

    All the best

I don't recall having that issue, to be honest... I did check my pics too, and it seems that I was able to shoot a couple at a straight angle.

I am presuming the retail version will come with a full stand, but this is why I am always pleased to have a couple of those flightpose.com stands too.

Well, you definitely get +Dad points for being able to step back from the situation and treat it logically, rather than letting emotions get in the way. As you say, it's a great opportunity for your daughter. Anyway, like you say, this is a safe spot on the interwebz, so you know we got your back.

Thanks again everyone. Love you x

Mr Amateur Hour over here only found the stand adapter as he was packing Phoenix away for his return journey home.

So I was thinking Bout the UW Baldigus/Ruination bunch that's just coming out now, and thinking:

    • Huh, finally got the articulated toys they deserved back in 2001.
    • 2001 was... wow, 16 years ago. Wow.
    • But still, way too late to be using G1 moulds, right?
    • The original Combaticons were from way back in 1985, which was...
    • Oh my god, 16 years earlier.

Going to cruelly gloss over the far weightier issues of family and perishing in the vortex of time in this thread and just say it:

    That movie voyager Megatron? Woof.

Gotta admit, having recently started enjoying the movie the best figures, I am liking this new Megatron. It actually has a decent alt mode.

Sadly I fear it'll suffer from shite paint apps like most of the movie figures did. Might have to wait until Japan paints then properly if that is the case.

Dip it in three melted Callipos, call it Sunstorm, and this cross-eyed goon is gonna buy it.

Judging by 2016 and 2017 so far, not quite so slowly and gently as one might prefer!

Not chipped in with the conversation about your circumstances, @banjoted, there's nothing I can properly offer as a non-parent seems a bit condescending/arrogant/facile to spout advice/reassurance to an actual parent under the circumstances but well done you and positive vibes nonetheless!

Made a literal milk run to the nearest, usually-even-shittier-for-TFs Tesco before Sunday closing and, lo & behold, they actually had some RID Legions and on offer at a hair under a Fiver.
Now £7 quid was no deal but under a Fiver?!
Of course this mad wee bastard was coming home with me in the shopping bag with a 4-pinter in it!

He did need a few tweaks one I freed him though...
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
I kept having mishaps with that damned right tail light though, after the left went a doddle (& freehand too!) after smudging/squidging it yet another time before it had dried, I just scraped off and masked it with tape...
...and it's STILL not as neat as the freehand one but it'll do, goddammit!

Frog mode also needed some finishing moves...

The frog's got his throat and is ready to toady off treasure-hunting!

Nice Sharpie job @Seeaich :thumb  I feel baffled by legion Springload's paint app on his front grill. Tbh, I would have preferred they used black paint on the top half rather than silver. It just seems a schoolboy error.

Queuing up alcohol and snacks, the dominoes number is on speed dial, getting ready for Wrestlemania to kick off. Folks who I usually watch it with are over there this year so I'm all by myself.

Might set Metroplex, Fort Max and Devastator up on the couch with a beer each and pretend I'm not...all by mysellffff

Y'know, I didn't think of that! My brain went straight to "that'll need fixing" instead after spotting it on first transformation.
Now that you point it out it really is totally daft, when they could have matched the plastic colour with I'd wager cheaper paint too! If they're gonna cheap out on paint as they seem to be doing with RID (and they really are pushing it with £18 Warriors with barely any), do it with a bit of common!
