Well deserved. The man is an artist and imagineer of unparalleled ability. We owe Transformers and transforming robots in general to him. The brand may go on, it may even be amazing. But one thing is for sure, it will never be quite the same.

 

The end of an era indeed. Sad to see him go, hope he has a happy retirement.

 

Real classy, man. Let's see some photos of you, since you're such a super model.

That's not always a good thing. Also, recently-ish, people don't actually stay all their life, as companies have been moving towards one-year contacts, not lifetime employment.

In Archer's defense, we've all had bad hair days (is that a MULLET?), and we have no idea what kind of rush he went through that day (or how long ago he got off a plane, etc.) to really judge his attire or looks. There could have been a few mitigating circumstances, and we've all been there.

Took me a while to even recognize Archer with that look.

Have a wonderful retirement, Yoke-san! Enjoy your hard worked success and wonderful contributions to the Transformers lore. Without you, there would not have been the great toys and the birth of this phenomenal franchise over the many wonderful years. You have certainly brought me and many a Transformer fan happy childhood memories with your iconic toy and character designs. Going to be difficult to fill your void, and you will be missed dearly. Stay happy and healthy always.

That's not to imply he's ready to punch out snakes.

 

It won't. At least, I doubt it will.

 

On a technical level, I think you're right. However, when required, Takaratomy could always seek Yoke-san's wisdom as an adviser or go-to guy for referencing certain quirks/ gimmicks and traits for potential new MPs.

 

Doubt it, main designers have been Yuki, Hasui and Kobayashi these past years.

I hope Yoke enjoy his retirement. Such a legacy, who new a toyline would spawn 5 live action movies with audiences worldwide and a toy brand people have known for over 30 years? Those are freaking achievements.

 

Wow, a true legend. Many thanks to him for contributing so much to my childhood, and best wishes for a fulfilling retirement!
