People that complain about the price, consider this....

TT could have gave him less detail, and made us buy the addons separately, Like $169.99 for the figure, less detail in stomach, etc. Then charge $49.99 for accessories kit, stock, silencer, stand. Then you'd have to buy repro-labels to get some of the color back in him. $25. Then you're back up to or over the price point.

My point.... I think it's a good deal considering he's 100% complete. 99.9% for those who do not like the Decepticon G1 cartoon logo.

But he is about $170 as is, it's the importing and markup for the resellers to make a profit after importing that's driving the price up.

Anyway you're correct, they could certainly have made it cheaper and cut corners and then we'd have to buy add on kits ala MP05

As for the insignia, well,I guess I finally became part of the 0.1% wasn't the one I was hoping to be part of though ;)  no complaints though, I'll let the 99.9% be happy and just shove a dry transfer on there.

Not wanting to escalate this so a couple hundred £ \ $ of toys crash into an expensive TV, but Apollyon and his 3P bootleg mates say hi!!

(I couldn't get MP Soundwave to balance, at all!!! And man, Quakewave (edit for actual name!) has been on the diecast fat pies, he's heavy!)

Just a bit of fun - MP-36 is replacing my Apollyon, who is going into permanent gun mode  , and the photos on here are making me want an MP Shockwave too! towerofdoom.jpg

Got my AmiAmi in stock notice today. Ordering a model kit with it so now I have to wait for that order to process before I can ship, but I'm very excited to get him in.

You know, I was one of that who complained a lot about the price. Now that I have seen his complexity, I still consider him expensive but I can justify that. Still hope next figures will be cheaper...

I know I always get flamed saying this... but I'm in the minority in thinking that not only masterpieces priced correctly, I would not be opposed to them being priced higher as long as quality also increases.

I just want a premium line for transformers. Anything less should be Voyager stuff.

    Anyways flame away

Coins and other bonuses only come with Hasbro Asia stock, so if yours is sourced from Japan then you won't get one.

Given what bandai's able to do with the Soul of Chogokin line, I think takara could still do more at the price range these figures are in. I really want to see diecast added at the joints and other possible breakage points not for weight, but for long term durability. Stuff like Cheetor's shoulder joints should 100% be diecast.

The MP line is great, still, and one of my favorite toylines around, but they've got room to improve.

Can't say I see a problem with pricing, myself. The logic of "how DARE TakaraTomy and retailers be able to turn a profit off of a product they sell" eludes me.

Like, the thing that sucks about MP prices isn't the actual price (Megatron's got the silencer/stock with him on top of that complexity, after all) but rather the price for Canadians on account of the exchange rate going back to 2006 levels for us.

Problem is for the price we are not getting quality.. Scratched chrome, visible nub marks, chipping paint etc... Paying $200 for something from Bandai is completely different to $200 from Takara. You can see quality in Bandai's or Sentinel's stuff.

In an ideal world I agree with you. In the real world I prefer being able to afford them and I'm fine with the quality.

Eh, let's not pretend Bandai has a perfect QC track record. I see the same QC complaints about SoCs and especially SHFs that I see in MPs. Splotched paint on SoCs happens a fair bit as does scratching. You even have engineering flaws like the too big pin breaking SoC Gunbuster's hands. The only difference is more english speakers buy MPs which is why we see greater complaints. I love bandai and they probably make the best stuff in the business, but they aren't without fault. This stuff is just a fact of mass production.

Voltron has a ton of chrome and none of it looks like any of the MPs. Figuarts yes but not as common as it is on MPs. The nub marks seen on Ultra Magnus, Thundercracker, etc I have only seen on hastily built gundam kits.
