The combiner shoulder joints are not strong enough to hold the jets up at an angle. They just fall down.

Agreed on the Combined part but you need Jaguar for the set!

Also, Reprolabels did an amazing job on their labels. The figures are definitly bland without them! If anyone needs pics, I'll take some later tonight.

I mean, I'm no fan of Hasbro, but I'd like them to aim higher than my all-time most disappointing 3P purchase.

 

Hasbro Combiners actually look pretty awesome once you apply the Perfect Effect upgrades. The proportions are all hidden in there. It's really only the hands and feet.

That said, Liokaiser was a swing, a miss and a crash into a gaping fire. As if making him a one-bot beastial torso wasn't bad enough, they had to use TWO of the Brawl mould. Sorry, but I just cannot condone its use outside the necessity of Bruticus.

And then they laugh in our face by giving us one breastplate animal (I don't know the name I never saw Victory) but not the rest!

 

More like swing, miss, and fall into terrorcon Airachnid's lair and get devoured. They should have at least had Leozack from Silverbolt instead of that Ultra SG SkyLynx they claim is Deathsaurus. I was fine with the double use of brawl, though. Adds some much needed height.

 

I don't condone it. No robot mode should be that bad.

I never watched Victory before picking up CW Liokaiser, so I didn't understand the torso complaints until looking up some episodes on Youtube. I became a big fan of the Breastforce once I finally saw the show, and was bummed after seeing how far Hasbro went away from toon accuracy. I ended up fudging the CW set as much as possible to get it at least somewhat similar to the onscreen look. At the very least, it is a decent much cheaper stand-in for TFC Hades which I just can't afford, and from what I've seen following this thread, WAY more stable/durable. I'd be all over Hades with that stability upgrade set in a second though if I could swing the cost! =(

Ok, now that I have my stickers I am going to spend this weekend labeling up the team and combining them for the first time. I've been having a lot of fun with the individual bots and altmodes. I've been trying to keep up with some of the problems and fixes for the set, I remember Hercules had all the add ons, mods, and issues on the front page but I haven't seen that here unless I'm blind.

The biggest issue is that the Cerberus connection ports to the legs are loose correct, and the replacement parts don't actually fix anything? Anything else recurring I should be aware of?

 

Just to make sure you're aware of it, there are upgrade parts for the thighs available that I think will increase support for it, but they're fairly expensive  .

 

This is by far one of my favorite combiner sets I purchased. I'm going to have to get around to getting the sticker sets for the team. As for the legs - Hades can be a pain to pose due I have managed to get this far without the need to buy the mod for the legs - though they do temp me more and more. If they weren't so expensive I would have snapped them up straight away.

 

Well, loose in that Drillhorn and Killbison have too much wiggle on the pegs. Tight enough to rip the pegs off Jallguar when you try to decombine them, though. That's why TFC included replacements.

I'm happy for anyone who likes this set, but this was by far my biggest disappointment (collection-wise) last year. My least-favorite combiner. Really hoping Mech Ideas comes through with theirs (and that it's about the same size).

 

Had they used the combiner pegs they used on their Seacons team, this set would've been almost perfect.


Ah well.

 

I'm excited about the Seacons, I haven't gotten any yet, with the way TFC stuff goes on sale online I'm waiting until the whole set has been out for a while and scooping up for 30% off on ebay or something.
