I doubt Shockwave survived either but when it comes to Bumblebee, why hasn't he tried to make contact with anyone else other than Starscream? Unless he's perfectly fine living in that limbo letting Starscream doing all of the difficult political crap in his place to see how hard it is to be hated by everyone. There's good irony in there. :D

He's trapped inside a mini-black hole and he's not Brainstorm or Perceptor, how could Bee make contact with anyone other than Starscream?

True, but if he's able to make contact with Starscream surely he can talk to pretty much anybody else on Cybertron.

That's a good point, he could potentially have the ability to reach out to other Cybertronians, but without understanding how he's able to communicate with Starscream can't actually do it yet, or maybe it's Starscream that subconsciously calls on Bee and not the other way around?
One thing I do wonder is why Bee hasn't told him where he is. He probably doesn't know how he came to be trapped in the Crystal City inside an otherwise empty void beyond it being something to do with that whole Shockwave doomsday thing, but you'd think "by the way, the afterspark looks a whole lot like the devastated Crystal City" might've come up at some point.

Well, I think they meant for him to be really dead. They just seemed to have changed their minds. First it raises the question HOW does he communicate with Starscream and WHY does he only casually talk to him andnever says anything that reflects his own situation. If I got stuck in some other place I would not talk to the only person I could somehow communicate with as if I were an imaginary friend and let him believe I was, when he mentions it.

    Agreed!

And writers clearly knew most were annoyed by him and yet I get the feeling they'll be forced to "revive him" in time for that solo movie crap next year (if not sooner).

But if IDW are going to play that game knowing many of us can't stand what Bee had become leading up to his demise. Then they really need to offset it by bringing back Shockwave and/or someone else that we actually miss or never had the chance of seeing in IDW.

Bee should stay dead cos he sucked and Shockwave needs to stay dead or his ending was meaningless and render dark cybertron to complete shit, while right now at least the second half was good.

I've gotta ask, what was so bad about IDW Bumblebee that some of you speak of him as if he was the worst character ever? Is it just because of Movie Bumblebee's over exposure or what?

as confused as you are, bro.
IDW bumblebee might had too many screen time too, but more important thing is he's generous and surely a real hero, he deserves to live and respect.

After reading the annual, I kind of have to think Bee never died. I don't know how he staged it, but in the annual it shows he's alive and well hiding out somewhere on Cybertron in the same gold Camaro blue headed body he "died" in.

Earlier in the annual, it also shows Bee and Orion Pax met after Soundwave and Shockwave had turned him into an agent using a prototype nightmare machine that allowed them to send hallucinations of ghosts into his head.

It's dark, but after failing as leader of the Autobots, then failing as the triumvirate and seeing Metalhawk murdered, Bumblebee may have decided to use the same tech, which only he, Optimus, Soundwave, Jetfire, and Prowl would be aware of, to manipulate Starscream. This might even be Prowl's long con, with Rattrap monitoring Starscream as Bee pulls the strings.

Before he died, he was like a grumpy Dr. House. But then again, Optimus right now is also annoying. And Pyra Magna even more. They write Orion Pax like Optimus Prime should be and Optimus Prime like some old dude who's afraid to really lead.

It's possible that Singularity Bee and Hallucination Bee aren't the same thing. That makes sense of the differences in appearance and the questions about why he didn't say what happened or talk to anyone else. It's even consistent with Prowl trying to manipulate Starscream.

He really wasn't that successful of a leader. During the original ongoing he was voted in and then, like, humans tricked the autobots into wearing control badges almost immediately. He didn't do too much til he got to Cybertron, and there while he was on the right side, Prowl, Metalhawk, and Starscream were able to put a lot of pressure on him and as we found how Megatron was somewhat playing him....

At the time, he looked like a pretty bad failure, though long run we do see he succeeded well enough to keep people together.

Frankly, he seems happier as a ghost. Rather than being overwhelmed by events and pushing back against political sharks, he's been nudging one political shark who, oddly, actually has not too dissimilar goals with him pretty often.

I don't dislike Bee. Not everyone has to be a successful leader. It doesn't matter to me that he failed such a difficult role. But I do feel somehow confused by his character. He seemed very idealistic one moment, then the next he did something downright immoral.

And he has some strange standard. Like how is releasing Chromia so good? She was a criminal wasn't she? Releasing her could be helpful and good diplomacy, very pragmatic, but Bee said it was the right thing, almost like it was good that Starscream opened a back door for Chromia. Maybe he meant giving people a second chance is good, but it wasn't clear.

I'd like that actually. I feel that it would be a cop-out if Bumblebee really was a figment of Starscream's conciousness and not anything more deeper. Secret manipulations goes back to the good days of early IDW RiD.
