What wave's Groot from? I have no clue what wave is out here, but I don't think many will make it and I get the feeling they'll be repackaged with more movie characters. I think we have Civil War Avengers with Giantman BaF, and AoU with Hulkbuster. Before that was other HB set. I wouldn't mind Warlock.
You mean the newest Groot with the smiling face and the mini Groots? If so, it's not part of the current GOTG wave and its a 'stand alone' figure. In my country, its a Toys R Us exclusive.
It's a TRU Exclusive in the U.S. too. *edit* Is it just me, or does Titus have the same feet as Thanos?
I found Cyclops on an end cap, all by himself. A hearty FU to all the scalpers and cherry pickers who are still looking for him. I won this round.
Hey, if anyone wants the GOTG2 Marvel Legends wave (minus Titus and Nova) send me a PM. I'm sure we can work something out.
Argh... I want that new X-men wave... I'm not sure I'm going to find many of them in the wild. Where the heck is the BBTS preorders?
Just finally got Speed Demon at Walgreen's mainly because I didn't find anything else I wanted after searching 4 shops. Now I'm just a Beetle or Leg BAF piece away from completing Absorbing Man. I doubt anyone bought a Beetle just cause they had to have that figure but if so and there is an unneeded leg floating around out there, LMK!
BBTS and others will be able to put the sometime in April. Apparently Target had an early release deal on these. Hearing that I've just decided to be patient.
No. Titus is mostly Space Venom. New parts appear to be right arm, left hand and shoulder, upper torso, and head.
I wonder if that was communicated to them at solicitation time or left as another "uh-oh Spaghetti-O" for them to find out later.
The factory assembled the feet backwards on Rocket. The Fwoosh video review of him shows you how to correct it. He stands and looks much better when fixed. Video
Based on my communication with BBTS when asking about details on when they'd have their preorders up and their Facebook communications with the general fans when they finally announced they'd have these available next month... my guess is they were aware when they got their solicitation. BUT I don't think they got their solicitation until after Target first started getting these, because I emailed them after first sightings to find out when preorders were going to go up... and they were apparently still trying to figure out what was going on with this wave. It probably doesn't help that, according to the interview Shartimus posted, the wave was originally planned to get released in August, but they decided to move it forward as they already have two other time sensitive waves (GotG wave 2 & Thor Ragnarok) hitting around the same time. Probably how Target ended up with an early distribution deal and the etailers were left scrambling for information.
August is a weird time to release that wave since the Logan movie is out now (or maybe they did that deliberately so Fox can't complain that Marvel/Disney is selling Logan merchandise?) and the summer is usually the death season for toys since big box retailers won't order new stuff until October/November for the holidays.
I think it was just a matter of Hasbro planning to release the second X-Men wave at the first time they released the first. Also, Hasbro isn't doing movie related stuff with the X-Men so I don't think they're worried about releasing the wave in time for the film or anything like that. Which is probably why we're also only getting one wave a year for X-Men.
Just ordered Beetle for under $10 to complete Absorbing Man. Kinda getting sick of buying a bunch of figures I don't want for one I do. I also can't deal with the principle of buying parts or the BAF separately for an inflated price ($40+) and not getting the other figures whether I want them or not. They should just make all BAFs available for regular price like TRU recently did for Groot.
