Anyone know the Canadian street date for the ld toys? I've been looking at the empty shelves for a while at the local wm after they reset.
TRU computers say March. So any time this month. I know, I'm also anxious for something more conclusive. Apparently some Walmarts even have shelf space ready.
It's pretty rare for SoCs to command over $1000 in the secondary market. The only one that appears to be doing it with any regularity is the DX Mazinger, which is one size-class up from GX-71. It's possible Voltron will do the same, but I would be surprised. If it performs like past SoCs, it'll top off in the range of $450-$600, assuming no reissues. I don't think anyone would argue that he's ever going to be cheaper than he is today; if you want one, get him now.
Considering GX-70 just got reissued and other popular characters like poor Daltanious got reissued, I don't see why Voltron won't be reissued at some point.
Ehhh, not by a huge amount. It's more about keeping it in good condition, and saving all the packaging.
Good to know. Just ordered SOC Voltron, and I doubt I can resist cracking him open. I do not plan on applying the stickers, building the base, or opening the jaw weapons. Thanks!
BBTS really came through with replacing my SOC Voltron. It took some time, but it was worth the wait. I know some people are a bit nitpicky on some things about it here and there. But, for me, he's my definitive Masterpiece Voltron. My only issue is just how expensive he is. That said, once in hand, this thing is so worth it. I know this is only early March 2017, but SoC Voltron is my toy of the year. It would be pretty hard to top it at this point. Thank you BBTS. Now if only I could spare another $300 for a second one. lol. I'm also happy with the Playmates Voltron. From what I've read, I agree about the proportions, but this is supposed to be a mass-release children's toy that needs to be robust for average play. I think it could have been a little bit slimmer here and there, I'm okay with it. I like it more and more. I may pick up the 14 inch non-detaching Voltron as well. I don't care much for the battle damage, but I can overlook it. The die-cast one combiner coming later this year is also something I plan to buy. Great year for Voltron!!!
I rarely see Bandai reissue things, usually just select Figuarts. They never reissued SOC GaoGaiGar, for example.
They re-issued GGG about a year or two ago to correspond with Goldymarg. They pumped out an extra run of GGG's with a new release date. You just don't realize it because there is no difference between release 1 and 2.
