Ran into this problem while trying to grab a second Groot at TRU for a friend of mine. Website said my location had them in stock so I went to go pick one up for him since he's having trouble finding Groot in his state. The pegs were empty and the sales associate said he'd just seen the last one sell about an hour ago. Brought up the fact that the website specifically states that this store has stock and proceeded to show them on my phone (courteously of course) and... this is news to me... but I was informed that there could be up to a twenty-four hour delay in inventory updates between their store and the website.
I'm telling you man, based on my Walmart runs I can tell you that the employees just make up stuff to tell you when they don't want to "work".
I actually believe it considering that Target has a more advanced system than TRU (worked as a manager for both companies) and Target has a similar issue. It's not a twenty-four hour delay, but there is one. The only reason I wasn't aware of it even though I used to be a manager is because my job there didn't have anything to do with their logistics system.
Eh, makes sense to me. It's hard to beat getting a BAF in one shot with more paint, an arguably better head, and even accessories for the cost of a normal figure. Especially since a lot of his wave weren't the easiest to find at retail (basically anyone not named "Iron Man" or "Star-Lord"). And on that note, I found this at Target the other day. I don't know what's worse, that this person had the balls to straight up steal nearly everything from the packaging while still in the store, or that they left the Hadron Enforcer. Hell, it's practically the best part of that Rocket.
Does anyone know if the Walgreens sale applies to the Punisher? It said Spider-Man/ Avengers but I think he technically could fall under the Spidey banner going by the cross sells on the back.
My local Walgreens mysteriously got in 10 Namor figures. I suspect that someone returned them, possibly to clear out stock from another store. This store still has about 10 Yellow Daredevils, too. The only time I find anything is when I leave the state.
Finally picked up an Angela over the weekend. What an awesome figure! I'm actually planning on customizing her a bit to make her more like she was in Spawn (boot, ribbons, loincloth, spear). Stopped at a Target today and snagged a Lady Deadpool. That squirrel is too funny. They had just stocked everything, so I finally got to see a Colossus. Nice figure. Pretty impressive.
Cool - have had Nova preordered for a while and they have that price drop guarantee. Just to wait tli the end of the month
Yup. I've had no luck finding him in any stores lately (even the ones that their website has up to 10 in stock,) but you can order him through their website: Marvel Legends Series Punisher 6 inch | Walgreens Should come to around $18 or $19 after tax & shipping.
Well My Walmart did had the Sandman wave, the Titus wave, & Hobgoblin from the Space Venom wave also found the first piece of the Upcoming Spider-Man Homecoming product that is a kid's custom of Spidey's first custom.
Store sales and inventory are not linked to the websites directly. Each store whether it TRU, Target, or Walmart, all update the websites after the "END OF BUSINESS DAY" this is after Midnight, when they "close" the registers down and do a count of everything sold that day (according to the registers) and get all their figures (money and stock wise) updated. While it's possible to go real time with these, no one does because it makes keeping track of stock harder in cases of refunds, stolen or hidden items or ever item currently in a customers basket, people can't complain about a product not being on shelf. This gives them the opportunity to have an excuse to give the customer rather than have a pissed off customer. It's not the only reason but it does factor in on their decision NOT to go real time. What makes this worse is that the websites normally don't update until "BEGIN OF BUSINESS DAY" the next morning, even though they've had the info for several hours. SOURCE: I do IT management and manage the servers for distribution (warehouse and website) for several international companies and know how they work and why they take so long to update.
Wasn't questioning it. Just wasn't aware they took so long to update their information. When I was a backroom manager for Target and later a Logistics Manager for Wally World we were always told our update windows between store and website were much shorter than a twenty-four hour period. But, like I said, wasn't questioning it and thought it would be good information to share here given how many people like to check online sources before hitting up a store.
Just to share, I watched brick seek for stock of a certain product at all the nearby Walmarts. Stock went from 0 to 16+ one day for some shops so that tells me they just got stock. I go early that day and nothing. I do that at about 5-6 different locations as they start to show stock until one of the employees actually took the initiative to actually check the back stock room. Behold he comes out with two cases. All the other shops said they didn't have it and it must be sold out even though I saw they had it in stock for days with the number incrementally decreasing by a couple every once in a while. To me, it means most likely an employee was holding stock in back and just buying/selling it as they wished. I could be wrong but seems like the most likely case to me.
I can now crank out Daredevil weapons in about half an hour. The one on the ground is the one he shipped with. Tomorrow, I'll pick up white and bright red clay to make two more.
