I get either/or. All depends on if TT's stuff is worth spending money on an import. In the end, you usually get the same toy to enjoy anyway.

 

I don't know. I only buy Hasbro stuff because it's cheaper, and I can afford it easier, and because I love custom-painting, but I get why some people prefer Takara's stuff since it's better painted.

 

What are you even asking? Are you asking about the toys? The name? Which company is run better? Which one should I buy stock in?

Because if you have "hasbro" "takara" and "hastak" I think you're asking about the name, but the companies are actually very different.

 

I don't give a care. Whoever's version of a TF I like better is the one I get, which company's name is on the box doesn't matter.

Both....I can see why some collectors choose to go with Takara (Takara-Tomy, whatever they're called) but I don't get too fussed about paint apps for the most part. That said, I pretty much exclusively go with Takara for Masterpieces since there's no guarantee Hasbro will release them stateside.

 

I always go Hasbro cause they are cheaper but now that I have a job I still go Hasbro cause they are both cheaper AND the paint job is more appealing to me.

Takara all the way. The absence of abusive distribution that trickles down into every aspect of the product is a major plus. Imagine that, desirable products and the opportunity to purchase them!

Hasbro and friends? They're like Mr Bumble doling out meager portions of gruel in comparison.

 

I usually prefer Takara's take on figures over Hasbro's. But I don't usually like Takara's figures enough to pay 3-4 times what Hasbro's versions cost. So I buy mostly Hasbro. I splurge on the occasional Takara figure when I absolutely MUST have their version. Last Takara MUST have for me was Chromedome. Everything else TR was Hasbro.

 

Both have their pluses and minuses and oftentimes its on a toy-by-toy basis.

 

Poll results gave me a good chuckle for sure.

I voted Takara, mainly because I prefer their products. I'll buy Hasbro IF I can't get what I'm looking for from Takara.

Takara because of cartoon accuracy, (usually) more paint apps, and added retooling.

 

Whichever. Case by case.

I don't have loyalty to one over the other. I just want the version I think is best in each particular case.
