So this toy is bascially Masterpiece Soundwave simplified and downsized to Voyager? Not really that different from iGear's Faith Leader, I guess. Is Mega Steel iGear?

 

While the general engineering looks identical to MP Soundwave, the surface detail and sculpting are all different. Seems less like Faith Leader and more like Maketoys Nova Prime.

 

It's an SUV, I've already have the Animated Soundwave so my SUV Soundwave is already in my collection.

 

I was recently in contact with Mega Steel, who are making this Soundwave, and the Blaster seen in another thread. Asked them if they had any updates. Their response was:

So, it looks like these guys are on track, we will see something next month!

It doesn't hurt to ask, it's easy for news to go unnoticed when there are a lot of events going on. Glad to know this thread has good trooper like you to watch over it. Do you feel better now?  

 

Asking just gets people's hopes up, thinking there's news…when it's just someone asking if there is news. It's really not easy for news to go unnoticed; if something was said about this guy, it would have been posted without anyone needing to ask for it. The BTS Nova Lord thread was just bumped today, too, because of someone else asking about updates, and one of the first replies was along the lines of "awww, I thought there was actual news".

So yes, I feel like a "good trooper" for spreading the word that asking for updates is 99.9% ineffective.

Did MS announce their not-Soundwave beforehand? If so, I wonder why pre-orders for Radio came first?

Did they make anything else before these two?

btw a little bump doesn't hurt. Forum's not just for updates but a bit of banter too.

 

They displayed shadowed picture of not-Soundwave first, but it hasn't gone up for preorder.

As for a reason, possibly they fast-tracked their Blaster to try to beat Unique Toys to the market. No reason to work quickly when there is no compeition for a Classic Soundwave coming, but if Unique Toys Soundmixer hits first, it would hurt sales of Megasteel Sonic.

 

I'm really curious to see where this project is going... I really need a good Soundwave to go with my CHUG collection... just happened to remember the project today. :-(

My Classics collection desperately needs a Soundwave too. Music Label is just too small when put next to Hegemon and the iGear Raptors.

Tronus/Granville/Storm Emperor was a total lemon and the company threw in the towel after the bad reviews & bad sales, IIRC.
