Except it's not 1987 so super ginrai clearly isn't trying to be g1 either. The evidence in that is no transforming cab and he's a headmaster not a godmaster. And fort max is relevant to this discussion since perfect effect made both their ginrai cab and warden

What evidence do you have it won't work with godbomber? If you ask me the images shown off today confirm it will work with godbomber

Fair enough, but go ahead and try to tell me Takara tried to make him "g1", because while they made him look more g1 than hasbros version they still kept it a headmaster and they didn't include a transforming cab. Pretty clearly Takara didn't try that hard to make it g1

 

its G1 with missing features, its got the colors, its clearly trying to be as show accurate as possible with all the remolding, his mate Godbomber is extremely G1 Show accurate, down to the goofy vehicle mode, the headmaster for Ginrai is very clearly cab mode Ginrai's head, and turns into Ginrai himself
I can go on and on. obviously its not strictly "G1" as in something like Masterpiece, its a chug version, but it feels like its missing stuff, basically imagine if Generations Jetfire didn't come with his super parts, for some that doesn't matter and wouldn't effect the toy at all(I would consider myself in that camp) but for some its an iconic part of the character, and without it just looks wrong.
your logic is basically "well they didn't give him a cab bot, obviously its not G1 which justifies not giving him a cab bot"
you can justify any design choice of any toy like this, and that just seems lazy to me, Legends/Titans return is obviously taking alot of ques(and alot of the time literally just taking the designs from the G1 toys and adding articulation to them or making them bigger) from all the forms of G1, denying it would be like denying gravity, I really don't see how you wouldn't be able to see it.

There's no strict confirmation one way or the other, but perfect effect also isn't stupid, they know they'll lose sales if it can't combine and it looks like all the necessary parts are there for combination

 

My guess is the knee guards take the place of the two tabs in super mode.

Maybe we should be glad HasTak didn't make the transforming cab. Not only would it have been more expensive but there's a likelihood that it wouldn't have come out as nice as what PE is making.
