One of us ... one of us ...

No no, it really is a reference to us. We asked at Botcon.

Yeah, I saw those as well, but I see neon-colored construction vehicles all the time so I didn't think too much of it.

Who said it at Botcon? To be frank, with all the other commentary, unless it came from someone on the MOVIE crew, or from Bay. I don't really buy it, as it's a nod that can interpreted for any use.

I guess until proven otherwise eitherway, it's a dual reference.

I don't know though, it kind of irks me if that truly is just a random internet website, or aaron archer shout out type reference. Especially after the way many of us behaved, or the artist and actors who contributed so much more to the mythos and brand than even archer.

It's just, kinda, well vain. Even rather silly and disrespectful to the others that came before.

Okay, my friend shed some light to me on this one... dunno if it's true though.

During Optimus' speech, he supposedly references the 1986 movie theme....

Something along the lines of "We can't stay worlds worlds apart, we must pull together." I'm seeing the movie on Sunday, so I won't be able to confirm until then

Unless, someone else can shed some light on this.

"And though we are worlds apart, like us, there is more to them than meets the eye."

That's the exact line in the speech, no clue how close that is to the song at the moment.

That sounds more correct than what he said. He probably just mis-interpreted it. Just that first line "And though we are worlds apart" is similar to one of the lines in the song.

They also had the slowed down original transforming sound in the city battle during Ironhides slow-mo transforming/missle dodging scene. I think they also played it during Starscream's scene where he's flying out of the atmosphere during the credits.

Orson=Orson from Orson's World forum back in the day I believe.Used to answer our questions as best he could and gave out alot of cool info.

    Ebay:
Like someone has already said, the tow truck in the movie is 'Mikes Towing'
The toy that is coming out that it's based on has 'Orson's Towing' written on it and is a designers Hasbro joke.

Much like how one of the human villains from the new animated series is called 'The Angry Archer' as a nod to Aaron Archer

It WAS Orson Welles last picture... he actually died during tha making of it, and one of the other cast members finished his lines off, and the voice was altered to cover this fact.

Shame really... bloody good actor... in all forms.

    Artist: Lion Lyrics
    Song: The Transformers (Theme) Lyrics

    Something evil's watching over you
    Comin' from the sky above
And there's nothing you can do

    Prepare to strike
There'll be no place to run
When your caught within the grip
    Of the evil Unicron

    Transformers
    More than meets the eye
    Transformers
    Robots in Disguise

Strong enough to break the bravest heart
So we have to pull together
    We can't stay worlds apart

To stand divided we will surely fall

    Until our darkest hour
When the light will save us all

    Transformers
    More than meets the eye
    Transformers
    Robots in Disguise
    Transformers

    Autobots wage their Battle
    To destroy the evil forces
    Of the Decepticons

It's judgment day and now we've made our stand
And now the powers of darkness
Have been driven from our land

The Battle's over but the war has just begun
And this way it will remain til the day when all are one

    Transformers
    Transformers
    Transformers
    Transformers
    More than meets the eye

Thats as close to the speech as the song comes to it.

though they didn't look exactly like the characters, I believe that Army unit was GIjoe. Think about it. You have the man of action leader who acted like Duke. You have the field leader who has more experiance than his rank shows like Stalker. And you have the Louisiana boy who isn't French but uses that granade launcher as his primary weapon like Gung-ho. Remember, this was supposed to be a GIjoe movie so i am thinking the Army unit is a hold-over...and that Sector 7 unit reminded me of a GIjoe type group.

Sorry if anyone's mentioned this already:

217 was the room where the personality components of the "Renegade Decepticons" were being stored, which Starscream took to create the Combaticons.

It was Welles' last movie, but he died after he finished recording his lines. Flint Dille confirmed that Welles did in fact record all of his own dialogue, but it was heavily synthesized because he was in such poor health.

Not true, he finished his lines and also recorded lines for the talking toy

This has been confirmed by Flint Dille and Wally Burr

Nice, I don't remember that detail from the cartoon.

However, according to the IMDB trivia, "217" stands for Bay's birthday.

X-Box, or should I say Torq a super-computer created by a Dr Gates (on "Day Of The Machines")

    Sparkplug - Makyla's (Carly's) Dad?

GI Joe inspired character Colonel Sharp Commander of the Qatar base.

The scene of Jazz fliiping over Brawl (Devastator) Turret. Homage to Kup and Blitzwing's scene within the movie. (Just wish the stray shot would have hit Blackout...)

While some of the fan wanks were intentional, I think some of the others people here are finding are just coincidence and not intentional. Although I do love the '86 movie nod to the Prime line "One shall stand, one shall fall." I just wish the writters would have added an extra line to the response Megatron gave and that is before he utters his response. I kind of wished he started off with "Why through you life away so recklessly" and then the rest of the lines in the movie.

I thought Col. Sharp was a reference to the USAF space shuttle pilot in Armageddon.
