The fingers don't bother me, especially since that thumb has so much articulation. But I'm with you on the head. No up and down sucks.

You can pull the head swivel up juuust slightly for some subtle vertical neck range. It's not perfect, but it can make all the difference for many poses.

Yeah, but still not a great solution. Really good if you want to do that sideways head tilt thing that dogs do though.

Not knocking Gewalt. He's one of my favs. But the lack of head articulation is one of the issues with him. I still highly recommend him.

I mostly do it to get a subtle looking-down angle. Since he's so tall, it's a handy trick.

Finally got my hands on Gewalt. And wow! I am incredibly impressed by the build quality, are all DX9 products like this??? If it came with a decepticon logo I would totally believe it was TT (in a good way!). I own 3 third party bots (Quakeblast, Despotron and Gewalt)-out of these Gewalt is hands down the most fun, sturdy and better built. The transformation has tricky bits but overall its pretty intuitive for all 3 modes; yes they could have done a better job at hiding some of the robot sections in tank mode but overall the engineering is fantastic-all sections tab in nicely and the tolerances are spot on! nothing feels fragile, etc. Robot mode is chunky, sturdy and a joy to handle (im looking at you MP11!!!); anyhow, highly recommended! some pics:

    Nice pics!

Yes, the DX9 bots are very hardy compared to some other 3Ps.

Dope-looking Devastation Blitzwing, even with BurgerTank mode. Wish I could get me one on the cheap.

Super dope with the Reprolabels stickers.

Something's wrong with the transformation of the canopy in robot mode.

Oh yeah, I missed that. It's easy to forget to transform that part. It pulls up, spins around and folds over.

I still love this figure. I always intended to get Ditka, and I probably still will, but it's extremely optional now. Even though it was the first third-party blitzwing, it still has the best jet mode out of all its competition

What's this thing that looks like an extra set of hips that came in the box with Gewalt?

Ah, thank you. That makes sense, it's gray and black.

same here. when I first saw the pictures, there was no doubt in my mind that Ditka was superior. but because Gewalt was released much earlier than Ditka, I decided to get Gewalt first and then Ditka.

seeing the reviews of Ditka, I think it's an extremely even contest.

Ditka's tank mode is obviously far superior, whereas Gewalt's two other modes are better, in my opinion (plane mode far better and robot mode somewhat better).

Gewalt has part-forming which I don't like. On the other hand, Ditka's plane mode really suffers from the turret on the bottom so I'd be inclined to take it off.

For the G1 purists, obviously, Ditka's two alternate modes are much more G1 accurate, so that might earn him extra points.

Kind of, I guess? In the way that MP Megatron does (or MP clones). And figures like Tyrant, Sovereign and Wardog.

I have DX9 blitzwing and really happy with it. I wish there was a front cover to conceal the head in tank mode. The tank is the weakest part of what is a great figure

Yeah, kind of. Except, for some reason, it's easier for me to accept it when it's a weapon. Then it's kind of "storage" instead. Stupid, I know :)

Although Wardog's storage of the shield is optional, right?

On a similar note, it's really cool how Gewalt's turret is stored in plane mode. Very well done!
