I think Star wars had the vhs, dvds, but stopped buying Blu Ray copies. I don't buy physical copies anymore.....

 

I ended up with 5 copies of Age of Extinction...

2 different blu-ray slipcovers
2 different blu-ray steelbooks
1 copy in the 4-movie collection blu-ray

Matches how many times I saw it in theaters.

 

I've got Independence Day on LD and Blu-ray and Casino Royale and The Avengers on DVD and Blu-ray.

 

Star Wars OT for me (4) is tied by the Transformers Animated movie (3) followed by Conan the Barbarian (2-3).

 

I don't believe I actually own any duplicate films...I did at one point when I still had DVDs, but I got rid of them all a while ago.

 

I'd say 2 copies of most of it. Only cause the price difference between DVD,Blu-ray or combo pack is so small I just get the combo so I have the BR and my kids get the DVD. Other then that Ninja turtles(VHS from when I was a kid,single DVD and 3 pack DVD and Star wars(2 VHS sets and BR).

I'm a big Conan fan too. Loved those movies as a kid. It would be awesome for Arnold to come back for 1 more and do King Conan. I wish we would have gotten the series they were trying to do. Arnold has the build and Jason has the look. I'm always ready for more Conan movies.

 

While I had a lot of dvds, I really only begun buying lotta blurays when I upgraded from my 32" TV to a 47" 3D TV. So most of my stuff is bluray already and I usually don't buy stuff I already have on DVD.

 

Oh it's definitely TF:TM. It was the 1st vhs tape I ever owned. Then when it was out of print, bought a bootleg of the UK version. Must have ended up with like 4 vhs copies, the first dvd, the 20th anniversary dvd, and the 30th anniversary bluray.

 

Probably Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I have the original two-disc DVD version I got for my birthday years ago, then a few years back I got the LEGO game for Wii and that came with a disc of the movie. Then I got the Hogwarts Collection last year, and that one has a Blu-Ray and a DVD, and the extended version on Blu-Ray. So I have it five times. Oh, actually, as I type this I realize Deathly Hallows Part II is tied with it: I got the DVD/Blu-Ray combo for Christmas when it came out, and the Hogwarts Collection had a Blu-Ray, DVD, and 3D Blu-Ray, so that one's at five too.  

 

Probably the original Nightmare on Elm Street. Owned a VHS copy. Then a 2-tape special edition VHS tape. The 2nd tape was all bonus features & deleted scenes. I still have it to this day, because no other release has the same content. And then I have a DVD that came in a box set of the series.

BWAHAHAHA. I found my DVD Star Wars OT Special Edition boxset and R1 Prequel Trilogy discs yesterday as I was rooting though some boxes. I thought I'd sold/given them away! Not so. Which means I have Star Wars on DVD, BD and LD... nudging towards Conan... Although I did find my R2 DVD of Conan too, which I also thought was gone. Oh dear. I really should check more boxes, my Star Wars Special Edition Trilogy on VHS might be in a box somewhere...

 

Alien and Predator Franchise. I think I have a copy of each movie in VHS, DVD and BLURAY.
Followed by Transformers 86. I have a copy of that in VHS and DVD.

For me it's Star Wars: 1 OT set on VHS and DVD, the Prequel DVDs, and the Saga Blu-Ray set. Pretty sure Lucas could have put a kid through college with all the money I spent on Star Wars merch over the years. Owning doubles of the prequels, as I do, ought to be recognized as a form of insanity   (And it made me feel okay about getting Harmy's Despecialized OT versions, because I've bought the legit versions several times over, and seen all of them in theaters at one point or another.)

Next is Fantasia: 1 VHS (keeping it for sentimental reasons since I got it from my grandmother), 1 Blu-Ray. I also have multiples of Ghostbusters, Casablanca, Goldfinger, Goldeneye, Brazil, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. No idea why I have all these multiples, outside of Brazil. The Criterion DVD has better galleries than their Blu-Ray does. Otherwise I mostly stream stuff, unless it's Crtierion, where I know I will actually want to watch their supplements. I haven't felt like signing up for Filmstruck yet but I probably will eventually.

What can I say? I love the movies. I don't care if it's arty or a blockbuster, I'll watch it.

Edit: I forgot that I do, in fact, have two copies of the 1986 Transformers movie, like nearly everybody else in here. The Australian blu-ray and the Shout! steelbook. I used to have the 20th anniversary version but I sold that one off before the Shout version came out.
