I hope this is the case, that we will get better toys at some stage for this film. Some of the designs we've seen are actually fairly good, Barricade's design could work as a basic 'heavy' character, Megatron isnt too impressive but could make for a nice figure, etc... I'm not much of a collector, but i appreciate when extra effort is made into the toys and the designs they have and as such i hope we get more than repeats, remolds and recolours.

Id be happy if Movie Masterpiece becomes an ongoing thing, especially now movies are planned yearly for the next few years, but given Hasbro's track record with the regular Masterpiece figures you just never know. Seeing what the TLK figures are turning out right I may just as well go for the Masterpieces, but in the back of my mind I can't help wondering if it'll last beyond the three we've seen listed so far.

It was only the first movie line that got Premium figures released towards the end of the run. I didn't happen for ROTF or DOTM apart from Takara's multiple versions of leader Optimus. AOE only had one repaint from a new mould and one remould from the previous movie, and having all the different lines instead of just the one line with deluxes/voyagers/leaders, they didn't feel the need to fill the line out with off screen repaints. There were some store exclusives, and they had the Platinum Editions, but a lot of those weren't really any more accurate and Not all the figures got that treatment.

Maybe we'll get those Platinum sets again later in the year. They'd do just as well to give them that level of attention in the first place and stick the price up another few pounds/dollars. Maybe people wouldnt find the price increase quite so unpalatable if the quality of the product matched. The SRP for the six inch Star Wars Black figures in £28.99 in the UK, though TRU sells them for much less, so something similar for a premium deluxe figure doesn't seem so unrealistic.

Yeah but ROTF was one of the bigger longer running movie lines with new molds and repaints of character not seen on screen that eventually lead to the hftd line. Dotm had a much smaller line, with aoe being even smaller yet. Chances are you are seeing what your getting here, or vary close to it. I"d say even a second deluxe BB appearing is going to be slim to none and if they wanted a BB repaint they should have just used one from the original trilogy since it matches his robot mode in TLK unlike the AOE Repaint.

Maybe so, but we still did get lots of repaints in the AOE line, in the form of Platinum Edition boxed sets. I'm still holding out hope. As for the 'Premier' moniker, well, Hasbro's gotta sell those toys somehow, right?

I'm betting the majority people do too, but I belong with the minority. The knight modes were very appealing to me.

Hopefully we will, but it'd be good if all the characters got the Platinum treatment this time. I still think it was a shame the didn't do a Galvatron/Lockdown/Stinger set or a premium version of High Octane Bumblebee.

I dunno why, but I much prefer the Dinobots in robot mode (in any continuity). For some reason it bothers me when they decide to fight in dino mode instead of robot mode.

I haven't really paid attention to the eye color on the premier version of Grimlock. The Dino eyes are blue? How incredibly stupid if that's the case. Why does Hasbro constantly fuck shit up & TakaraTomy gets it right time and time again. Its really getting quite aggravating tbh. & don't get me wrong I like Hasbro products, but I'm all in on Movie Best! I already own the early releases of MB Megatron, Shockwave, and AOE Prime in my PW. If you wanna see reviews on the line, stay tuned for my YT channel at end of February when i ship them all together (minus Ldr Prime, Grimlock/Prime & Strafe/Bee those are March) with MB Megs, Shockwave, AOE Optimus, Starscream, Soundwave, Bee dlx, dlx Ratchet, dlx Ironhide, TT Legends Astrotrain, & Legends LioConvoy, VAH Usopp, MP Cheetor & Grapple & my Gashapon Gaogaigar mini figure of the SOC. I figured I'd wait & ship them all together.

They got the dino eyes right, it's the robot eyes they've done in blue. To be fair though Takara didn't get them 100% right with movie advanced, giving Strafe red eyes in beast mode and I'm sure something was amiss with one of the others.

Shall keep an eye out for your reviews :)

No doubt. It's gonna be a good month lol. Sweet avatar I just noticed you have a pretty good idea for a Transformers movie look. Galvatrons movie chest/body with Optimus Primes head in a dark Rodimus type of color Very cool!

Its nice to sew movie fans now a days yoi have no idea what 2007 was like (or maybe you do) but everyone wss hating from 2006 to 2011 on movies! Except maybe the ppl that went & actually stuck up for what they believe. I love the movies probably my 2nd favorite Transformers media/line! G1 being my favorite since I was born in the late 70s, & Animated/Prime/Rid2015 being tied for 3rd.

Thanks, it was my attempt at seeing what Galvatron was meant to look like, with Joshua modelling him on Optimus. I love how Galvatron's body, and even parts of his head, are like stylised versions on Optimus's original movie look. I gave him a 'shadow spark' makeover while all the TLK is going on :)

Oh yeah, been through all that! The movies aren't perfect, but what is? Love the robot designs and vehicles chosen. Which makes some of the figures all the more disappointing when paint decos are less than accurate (Voyager Optimus with colours in places where they shouldn't be and none where they should), or and repaint is forced (AOE Bumblebee being painted up to resemble the new car). Still, Toy Fair should clear a few things up.

You wouldn't happen to have that picture in higher quality, would you? I'd love to have it as my phone wallpaper, but I don't want something so blurry lol
