Well if you think about it from a story point, the Dinobots are their parents and we all know the Dinobots don't tend to be too bright in many continuities. Based on what was described of Grimlock's personality in this movie, it seems to be the case here as well. So it's not surprising they would name their kids just mini version of themselves. Though personally I liked the idea of Grimlock Jr. better.

Hmmm. I wonder if they mean the Autobots when they say "The hunted will become heroes". They were hunted in the last movie right along with the Decepticons, and still being hunted at least in the first part of TLK. Maybe it means they will be heroes again.

That part with the Ark being destroyed along (possible) with the moon looks cool.

Which is funny because the only people I EVER see complain about Bees voice are on here. Never heard a single person in theaters, friends or family ever say his voice was boring and needs to change.

Because the majority of people who watch these movies do it because they are Michael Bay action films. We watch them (or refuse to) because they are Transformers movies (or mockeries thereof), and we have some understanding of the characters and story (when it exists) due to our previous exposure to other parts of the franchise.

And that's pure BS lol. Not meaning that to be disrespectful to you but that is probably the silliest thing I've heard in a while. Do you really believe that the vast majority of people that watch these movies (that are not us here) actually know these are Michael Bay films or even know who Michael Bay is for that matter? Sure a lot of them are watching because it's an Action flick but the majority are watching them because they are Transformers movies.

Just the word Transformer draws people in because most everyone knows what Transformers are or have grown up with some form of Transformers with the different cartoons and even the toys.

I bet you any money that if you were to go out on the street and poll 100 people, 80% of them would know at least 1 Transformers name and or just what they are. But ask those same people who the director of the movies is/was and some 20% to 25% might actually know the director.

More people would know the actors in the movies than the director.

My point is just as us fans go because of the TFs, the every day movie goer also goes for the TFs.

To me, the way Bumblebee communicates is what makes him... well.... Bumblebee. It's the largest contributor to his uniqueness.

I mean to compare our level of fandom to the more common level. Ours is one where we actually have in-depth discussions about different versions of the same character, since we immerse ourselves and continue to immerse ourselves in the fiction, whereas theirs is more like "That was a cool action movie. I remember having some of these guys as a kid" and that's the end of it.

I can assure you that the average movie goer doesn't care nor knows who Bay or most directors of most movies are.

Yup. Out of hundreds of people I personally know, almost none of them know about Bay or let alone any director, maybe unless the director acts and directs like Tyler Perry or Sylvester Stallone. Last time a went and saw transformers at the movies. When Ironhide got shot up by Sentinel. I reacted but the crowded movie theater was silent. They had no clue on the implications of things. A full huge movie theater that most likely all of them not knowing anything transformers technical. Facts.

Exactly, most of the people at the theater don't know a thing about Transformers. I remember this one dude, who was talking about...Transformers - Dark of the Fallen...you see what I mean?

Dark of the Fallen? Really? Even if I wasn't a Transformers fan, I'd realize that makes no sense haha

I think you must be right. We all know Bay here because he's such a point of contention among us, and we're all Transformers fans. If we look outside of this echo chamber, most casual movie goers have no idea who's directing the movie they're watching, we the audience largely pick movies based on premise, familiarity and the stars! Here's a test, ask the next 10 people you see who directed the Empire Strikes Back.

When Transformers was first announced I had no idea who bay was, my friend did, he complained about it, "oh it's that the guy who made the rock!" I just thought 'so what,' I'm gonna see prime and Megs on screen, and didn't the rock have really good car chase scenes, autobots are cars!!! (things were less complicated back then!)

So going by that encounter, it must be 50/50 :lol

Kinda late on the reply here but -
He would be able to say Optimus and Cybertron because there would be news coverage which includes those words.

If Bee becomes a Knight (and/or Prime), he needs to have his actual voice. It would make zero sense for everything but his voice box to be upgraded.
I'm also in the "Speaking thru the radio has become really old" camp. I like Bee, but the no voice thing was cute upto the second movie.

As for Bay, I think there are far more everyday people who equate him to Transformers than we think. ;)
