Seeng that the film s humans vs Transformers that explains why Lennox is a "bad guy". He might have had allegiance with the Autobots once but he has a greater allegiance to Earth and being a solider - the government. That explains why Cade is on the run again; choosing to help the enemy instead of his own race. It's going to be really interesting watching Lennox after the events of the last 2 films.

Also I too love that they included the Ark. Not only was AoE great for being a sequel to the events of DotM just like how RotF acknowledged the state of the Allspark in the big picture but it's great that events aren't just being forgotten.

Much different vibe than I'm use to, but the emotional cues in every shot is unquestionable.
Like most fans I want to see more robots, and chase scenes, but this approach is much accepted.
Connect the audience first, make them wonder and then show them the real stuff. :popcorn

I don't think they retconned anything. They Allspark gives life and in the case of inanimate machines turns them into savage Transformers. There's nothing stopping the idea of Optimus being purpose-built and then given life using the Allspark. There's been no indication as to how Transformers are actually created in this series.

They were born on cybertron and the allspark like you said was the life giving component of it, everyone except optimus was born as lockdown stated: "you think you were born, no you were built and your creators want you back"

I could bring my OCs into this, if you're lookin' to make this ugly.

my OCs are actually pretty tame and second-rate beta characters tho

Yeah, poor guy's probably gonna die. Hopefully we get a toy of him.

Yeah, the Allspark is specfically what gives life and sentience to them, whereas the Quintessons are who built them as a slave army/labor force, Lockdown clarified this just before he captures OP.

Well shoot...I'm a bit disappointed that no new bot footage was shown. I just want to see some clips of any of the other Autobots or Decepticons. But the ark scene was pretty cool, continuity is always good. Oh well, gotta wait till the next trailer I guess.

So rewatched the extended TV Spot and I noticed something interesting. I took the screenshots of those exact moments.

    TLK 1.png TLK 2.png

Notice the lack of Cybertron in the sky. Now there's two things that this could mean; either Cybertron is still far away or it hasn't been summoned yet. I think we might now understand exactly why the Omega Lock was hidden away and guarded over the centuries. I think this thing is obviously the Omega Lock that has been activated by Optimus who would of course have knowledge of its location since he is one of the knights. The Omega Lock is indeed designed to restore Cybertron, but not in a good way. It seems it calls out to Cybertron once activated, drawing the planet to it. To which Cybertron proceeds to merge with planet the Omega Lock is on. Humanity would obviously want such a thing hidden away to protect their planet. But because of the Omega Lock's nature to call out, even in it's deactivated state it still manages to draw Cybertronians to it to tie into the whole "You want to know why they keep coming here?"

Now the question is, exactly why do the Quintessons seek to restore Cybertron?

I am sure he is a Construction Machine and not a Tank. He is a wheel loader or a Excavator...

Or it's just on the other side of the sky.

But then your theory does make sense. Not exactly sure about that Cybertronian structure being the Omega Lock, but it would make sense.

There was a thread a while back showing that he's a reuse of Longhaul's body with Jolt's head. (albeit modified) Lemme see if I can find it.

Nah, we're good. Wouldn't want to destroy your OCs with my own. Then I'd have to clean up the mess
