Working in the RG Blue Frame today, I think once I get to the finishing top coat it will even out the look. My paint mixture comes out too glossy under the direct light and you see the brush strokes.
    20170129_184906.jpg

Also painting areas on the weapons too. I'm still adding to the rifle but these are the key points I thought of first. I don't know if thst ring around the gun barrel is a legitimate one because thats where the runner connected but it looked right to me. The Bazooka is next and I will get to the beam sabers soon enough.

And here's a box full of progress! Remember, all that blue on white *except for the Advanced Joint frame * is paint! 20170129_190725.jpg

Of course they do. Hollywood loves nothing more than films that are all about how great Hollywood is.

Ay, HLJ gave me four stands. One of each if I think, a Tekkadan, Seven Stars, GH, and Turbines.

    Awww hell yeah.

Also, the Dom R35 is a rickety kit, but it just looks so good. Beefy and rad. Not sure what I'm gonna paint it though but I'll think of something. Shame it's just not too fun to pose but whatever.

I also got a friend of mine to get her first Gundam kit, the Revive RX-78-2. As I grow in my knowledge of Gundam, so do I pass on that knowledge.

    God daaaaaammmmmmmiiiiiiitttttt.....

Heads up on the Zudah - it has sticker markings and parts for all four units, BUT the only one you can 'properly' make out of the box without airbrushing unique camo patterns is Unit 04.

    Sick pile!

Watch out when you're adding the Assault Shroud on to the Duel's skirt. Might require you to remove the abdomen from the torso in order for you to get it snuggly in there!

At least I have a the Gouf R35 and Silver Bullet, not to mention that Geara Zulu Guard I haves stowed away. Plus that Arm Arms set is really fucking cool. One of the better option sets I've got. I've added Thunderbolt-style sub arms holding its shields and added the thruster pods to the EZ-AC. I'm thinking of prearranging a missile pod setup for it, too, Stark Jegan style. But I love that it just straight up has the MMPR Black Ranger's axe. Dunno who I'll give that too, but I'll find someone.

Finally at a point with my painting on the Blue Frame that I can actually start building and touch up as I go.

Liking how my in progress still painting pattern is coming along. The color will darken properly with a follow up coat and the paint will lose the over-glossiness *compared to the plastic, when I give it a top coat.
    20170130_193543-1.jpg

And the point where I stopped for the night. My obvious mistake was chipping some paint off the shield. My primer layer didn't last. Minor fix to do later.

The, hopefully, final form of the EZ-AC!

    EZAC4.png
    EZAC2.png
Those legs were a pain to paint and I'm not sure why. Though I'm almost certain it was where I had them stored got them all dusty and I couldn't see on the white paint. The backstory I have for this suit is that it's an old modified Gorund Gundam, based on the improvements made with the kitbashed Ez-8, that survived the OYW into later eras. It's unflattering, worn and grimey, and basically used as a reserve suit on operations not deemed critical enough for modern suits. It's meant to be rugged and durable in it's old fashioned design. Less iPhone, more pipewrench. It gets minor improvements over time in the form of loadouts and is designed to be modular. I imagine the backpack wouldn't have the clean blue contrials of modern suits, but belch firey, smokey plums which along with being oversized alludes to it's outdated construction, but as a result has higher thrust and speed for it's size.

    EZAC1.png
This is the atmoshperic flight setup. Nothing fancy but then that's the point of this Gundam overall. Not sure exactly how I'll paint the wings, sheild and missle pods, but I bet they'll be at least partially yellow. :D

    EZAC3.png
And this is the space loadout. I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the rear so you cna't see the thrusters, but seeing as they're also unpainted right now you're not missing much. Basically a far more attractive, streamlined version of the previous space design I had.

Never underestimate outdated suits, they're better than you may think. See: Episodes 2, 3, 5, 6 of MS IGLOO.

What'd old suits do in Igloo?

EDIT: BTW, The Silver Bullet is badass. Really big and full of gimmicks. Who would've thought this design of all MS would be able to do the best kneeling pose?

Pretty much curbstomp the shit out of 'top of the line' suits.

Hildofr? Destroys a whole group of Zaku II's and two tanks and only was itself a casulty because the guy let his guard down at the exact wrong second.

Zudah? Outperforms the GM Mass Production in the rescue efforts following Odessa and despite being three-year old prototypes that had a tendency to explode, the explosion threshold was why it was not chosen over the Zaku II...despite having better performance stats across the board in comparison. The Zudahs in IGLOO are pretty much the exact same prototypes given better shield joints and presented as being more advanced (until the EFSF get wind of the truth which just embarasses Zeon)...the irony being they ARE superior to the Zaku II and after episode three they don't explode. In fact the two remaining Zudahs survive the war.

Oggo pods? Litterally space barrels scrapped together from whatever could be found and the overproduced reactors for the now useless Type J Ground Zaku II. And piloted by Not-Hitler-Youth. And were prone to malfunction due to hasty building and shoddy materials. And still could hold their own against the Feddy Ball.

The giant thing I forgot the name of? The crux of the defense of the East field at the battle of A Boa Qu. While not itself all that effective a battle weapon, it was more of a mothership repair vessel that kept the Oggo Pods repaired and with ammo. And the E field was so well defended by basically cobbled together crap meant more as cannon fodder than anything, the big monster thingy being credited with having kept many Oggo pods functioning to actually survive the battle before itself was blown up (the pilot surviving because he was the main character of course), that it was the avenue for so many retreating Zeon forces to make it back to Side 3 and thus countless lives saved from the really fucking angry Feddy Vets who wanted all the Zeons dead even after the Ceasefire surrender was called.

So HLJ say in their current video, that there`ll be another Char Zaku1 the Origin kit, now with shield and another machine gun? I hope the colors are little bit different, I`d rather have the Zaku 1 Tri Star or the green Zaku 2 versions.

The colours and construction are slightly different: 1/144 Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin - HG Zaku I (Char Aznable)

And yeah, I think it's a pretty useless kit when the two you mentioned would've been far better alternatives. Bandai is seemingly deathly afraid of giving us Origin kits that can serve any purpose beyond recreating specific Origin scenes.
