Welp, I'm pretty weak-willed so I shipped this already.

I just hope HLJ opens the MP Cheetor preorders so I can ship him along with LG Lio Convoy.

I'd call this a warm grey and the actual toy a cool grey. Given the choice, I'd prefer the warm grey.

Just hoping by some miracle it hits BBTS by monday because my POL got its final notification that my 180 days are up. Don't have anything else on preorder for a couple months, so I would love to not start a new clock right away.

Aw man, this looks really good. But I just got the normal titans return ver., and I dont want to spend 80 bucks on the same thing plus shipping.

Though I enjoy my Hasbro TR Astrotrain, the Takara one looks so much richer & more accurate to the classic cartoon. The simple addition of a little paint has made a huge difference. The train windows & shuttle cockpit viewports are tiny yet important touches which Hasbro was too cheap to do. The shuttle wing stripes on both front & back, for bot & space-ship modes, look fantastic! I would have loved it if Hasbro had at least done that for the shuttle-mode. Overall, though the actual count of paint applications is not much more than Hasbro's, the improvements are substantial & much appreciated. All that said/stated, my Hasbro TR version still homages my oldie very nicely, but perhaps ToyHax/ReproLabels can enhance him a bit.

Astrotrain has always been a favorite of mine, ever since I got him for my 9th birthday. Back then, the Space Shuttle launches were always aired on the 3 TV channels and were a big thing. And, as with most boys, I loved trains. The late 1970's & 1980's began the techno-era and robots & space exploration were popular in TV sci-fi shows & cartoons, so Astrotrain was a perfect fit. My old Astrotrain stands/leans proudly on my G1 Decepticon shelf to this day, & my Classic & Henkei versions have their places in my CHUG display.

This new mold, first made as a Titans Return one, & now a Takara Legends re-color is a very good successor to both the original G1 toy/character and to it's subsequent modern versions. Though, not as slavish to the old toy & cartoon as I'd prefer, it is still an acceptable & well-articulated upgrade. I am hoping for a faithful G1 Masterpiece from Takara at some point in his three classic color-schemes: G1-Toy, G1-cartoon, & Takara Black & White.

Double-dipping with all of Takara's Transformers is sadly not an option for me, but this is an instance I might just have to stretch my budget. :D

    Looks great.

To me, if hasbro had done gray wings it would look so much better.

Looks really good. The only (very small) nitpick I have is that I wish the shuttle windows were painted yellow like the train windows. But the blue is fine too... at least they ARE painted.

I'm glad I kept my preorder, I was deeply considering canceling it.

The only thing that bugs me is that even though TT has a bigger paint budget, they still didn't paint any of the train mode wheels.

I love the fan made base 4th mode!

Didn't know the Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain mold had a "base" mode.

Does this make them quad-changers now?
