I thought they were MP scaled? Do you think both of the Monsterbots will fit in with a CHUG collection?

Great review, Maz. It's clear that you genuinely love this thing and that's awesome. Luckily, I always have 80s synth pop at the ready.

Really glad I literally said "fuck it, throw Megatooth in too!" with my Arch Enemy order from GCI.

Any safe way to get rid of those obnoxious tampographs? While there are some nice details, the numerous "FanHobby" plastered all over him, not to mention "Meagtooth" is a bit much.

This guy really grows on you. Especially the bot mode :)

    Will share some thoughts soon.

Mine got in tonight, and I couldn't wait to tear into him! I was not disappointed. The quality of the materials and construction are immediately apparent. Everything feels tight in a good way, and quite sturdy. He has excellent "handfeel." Photos don't really do justice to how "juiced" his bot mode is; he looks the very model of 'roid rage. Now that he's in hand, I think some of that beefiness was done in order to give his monster mode more bulk and heft; it's pretty clear that he was designed with alt mode foremost in mind. That's appropriate I think; like the Dinobots, his monster mode is far more interesting and iconic than his bot form.

Some of the things that have bothered others - mainly the "duck lips" and the tampographs - do not bother me at all in hand, and for the same reason: neither really read well except if you're really holding him close. I expect the duck lips were exaggerated so that his expression would read better from a bit of a distance, as when on display. The tampographs with the name of the company, the figure, and the word "monster" are likewise illegible unless you put him right up to your face. Would I prefer he didn't have them? Yes. Would I suggest they leave this off future releases? Sure. Does it mar this figure? Not at all. I actually rather like the tampos that kind of look like metallic detailing; I could just live without the writing.

I'm at the point in my collecting where it isn't just about my "dream team" characters anymore - most of whom have releases - but figures that are really top-shelf and worth supporting. I had Repugnus as a kid and liked him, but wouldn't have rated the Monsterbots as "must have" MP figures. This guy is a really good figure though. Anyone who is into "pure" collecting for the sake of a good toy will not be disappointed with him. The very reasonable price - $115 for a figure roughly MP-10 sized - doesn't hurt either.

As many have said, he is a BEAST! Truly he has pecs that would back down the most pumptuous. The pistol grip vs. Fingers issue is unfortunate but certainly not a deal-breaker. His "kaiju-mode" head has a lot of hidden space that would be friendly for light-up kit mods. Especially for the eyes, and maybe a breath weapon.

This guy is adorable! If I were richer, I'd honestly think about army-building this guy, sooo cute.

I need some advice on getting a replacement rifle for this guy.
One of my dogs decided to find out what a "venom laser" tastes like.

    Great read, thanks Maz.
He does look solid, but I'm firmly in the little to no attachment camp as the monsterbots were such bit part players in marvel, so I think i'll be passing unless I see them down the line on sale.
Build quality makes me interested in what else they are going to put out tho.

Does the bot mode remind anyone else of Zangief from Street Fighter? I always think that when I pose it. Just another reason this thing is awesome!
