How does it compares in terms of quality (articulations, posability, details...) with Titans return figures? I'd love to add Unicron to my collection but it costs way more than Fortress Maximus while being way smaller.

 

its a better toy than TR Fortress maximus though. If we are gonna compare size, both of these are bigger than MP Magnus and he costs more and all of these toys are bigger than a YF 19 macross toy which costs way more.

Point is, size and price isnt that related, its about quality and what you get for your money. Unlike Fotress maximus, Unicron actually has an involved transformation, he actually transforms instead of you taking off his head and having him lay on his stomach. Plus, he has super cool features, like a missile launcher on his chest. He feels more solid too and the articulation is great! If you didnt own either Fort Max or Unicron, then I would say Unicron is the better toy.

 

You're absolutely right and that's why I asked for a comparison with newer figures. If you say that Unicron have better playability and engineering that Fortress (which I already have, so I'm not in dire need of another Titan sized bot) it may be weel worth the price. It may not be in scale, but it's impossibile to make a Unicron toy in a scale even remotely accurate so who cares?

Hopefully this gets on sale. I still got 2003 Armada but I would love the G1 remold.

Is this just a repainted, retooled version of the Armada figure? For $170, I'd rather save up a few more hundred dollars and get the lighted statue. It doesn't transform or anything, but it's crazy sexy cool.

The lamp is cool but I want a Unicron that transforms. I'm still dubious about the price....i'll try to wait for some deal. How much did it cost when the armada version came out?

Sorry to dredge up this thread but I just got tlk cybertron and decided to look on bbts for unicron. I came across the platinum edition unicron listed as a preorder for release in July 2018. Is it getting a rerelease? Or is that just something bbts does?
