Surprised no one mentioned A3U had a review sample of this Badass!

So glad I pre-ordered this, it's ridiculously good-looking! It's so good to see the forgotten characters realised properly, some of which had fantastic, dynamic designs!

Not familiar with this character but I love the look of this figure. Reminds me of a mix between an older Japanese super robot and a Transformer. However, I'm not sure about his scale. Where will he fit into everyone's collection?

They are better than previous seasons, lol. Alex looks like he falls asleep briefly sometimes in some of them.

Their videos are decent and they seem like good people but the guy on the left always come across as someone way more interested in marketing the products and their shop than reviewing the figures. Both can certainly be done at the same time. I think Chosen Prime does a good job with that, for example.

Maketoys is killing it here. I had a G1 Point Blank when I was a kid, so this is a must own for me. I can't wait to see what they have coming next. Really hoping we still get some MP Seekers from them.

I feel like Downbeat beat this to the market. I feel like MT is dragging this one.

What do you mean feel? that's literally exactly what happened. lol Downbeat somehow hit production super crazy fast while this guy has been at a more normal pace. Who knows why, just how it ended up.

But I am curious as to if this guy was in fact fully finished prior to Downbeat and the production was artificially delayed so MT could have Downbeat made sooner to get him to he market sooner. Quite possible.

It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that they may have delayed Contact Shot and sped up Downbeat to guarantee their Not!Jazz was finished and released before the Chinese New Year, letting them come back to work after their celebration with a near-guaranteed solid mass of sales and (Hopefully!) positive buzz. From the look of things, Contact Shot is not significantly more complex, so I doubt they struggled with the engineering, but he DID generate less general interest simply from being a rather minor character.

Now Maketoys gets to go back to work after some time off with, maybe, enough demand for a second round of Downbeat sales and with Contact Shot ready to come out and capitalize on the inevitable uptick of interest a solid figure release brings. Makes good business sense to me, even if it is a somewhat dickish move to pull on the people who were more interested in Contact Shot from the get-go.

He's part of make toys re master line so he's a big bot meant to go with mp figures .. his alt mode is glorious and massive and the target master is very nice as well

He's an autobot targetmaster from Season 4/JP Headmasters series. IIRC, he didn't have too big of a roll in the U.S. Rebirth but in the Japanese Headmasters series, the targetmasters appeared late in the season and Pointblank (Contact Shot) was the leader.

Wouldn't mind seeing what they would do with a new seeker mold but I'm anxiously awaiting the completion of their Headmasters & Targetmasters.

NO he is the perfect correct MP scale bc the cars are bigger then. The MP cars are 1.5 inches too short bc they should be at Iron Hides shoulders with the vans fitting in trailer. That is another MP-08 Takara goof up. And he is from the characters that appeared in the US cartoon REBIRTH which happens to be my favorite episode & season 4. If you are a transformers fan, WATCH IT!

In the 80's I Always disliked how the powermasters and targetmaster couldn't hold that Nebulans inside the vehicle mode like the Headmasters could.

But now that MT is making a Targetmaster who can, I honestly got to admit that I feel their Pointblank is to big. I really don't want a -master collection with all the MP-10 sized robots.

I think you have to consider that these Headmaster/Targetmaster cars are not based on standard earth vehicle designs and sizes like the S1 and S2 carbots were.

I know, and I don't really have much of an issue with it in fiction (although I don't recall them dwarfing other cars in fiction, be it cartoon or comics).

My biggest issue is how a shelf full of these headmasters and targetmasters is going to look. It will be a collection of all MP-10 sized robots and that's too big for my taste. I know they were this big as toys, in the cartoon and on the scale chart, but it's just too big for my taste.

Most of what you've stated there isn't true. The mp carbots are flawlessly scaled to their robot modes relative to mp optimus as all mps are ideally suppose to be. MP ironhide was in fact too tall similar to how mp magnus was too tall and should have been shorter. Takara "messed up" with that figure, not the others. Also not sure what you're referring to regarding MP08, that mold was made prior to the newly established scale that came with mp10, it predates takara's attempts at standardizing scaling so of course it doesn't look right, but that's not a mess up, that's just s circumstance of him not being intended to scale forwards which is why FT's Grimlock is much larger since he is.

Also no, this design is based on the Headmasters animated series regarding scaling and mold design (just as MT's headmaster bots are) with some nods to the original toy thrown in as well, especially the color. The only thing that specifically references Rebirth is the optional head that is not attached by default.

Bring em on. Fits with all these 3p headmaster, target master, victory series guys. Mp 09 included. Because of Ironwill and Cupola, I decided to keep big ol clumsy Rowdy Rod Primer. So can't wait for pointblank. I'd kill to seeMT take on Brainstorm

I'm in the same boat. If and when the time (and money) comes, I am totally up for collecting all the Headmasters/Targetmasters and Powermaster MPs, HOWEVER i feel i will have to have a separate bookshelf/case for all CYBERTRONIAN based bots because these guys are gonna look ridiculous alongside the S1/S2 carbots. I understand how by s3/4, most bots were standing shoulder to shoulder in terms of animation, but put MP Chromedome in vehicle mode next to any of Takara's carbots, and he's gonna take up both sides of the road as if he were a tank!

There's no way around it really, unless someone were to scale them more in line with Iron-hide. It's the Hot-rod/Kup/Blurr issue all over again. Are they the size of the carbots, or more in line with Perceptor/Ironhide?
