    It would only be an alternative universe iron hide that could appear in the film now, as the manner of his death left little doubt about if he could be revived or not. From our universe he's a gonner

    I think Vector Sigma provides us with a handy option and might give us some leeway in the inevitable refresh of the franchise to maybe use a jumping off platform to beginning again

    I was like this after the movie and made a similar thread...think I was in denial or something lol I want him back too, heck I want all the bots back. Especially Jazz. I'll take a reboot since at this point that's really the only way we'll probably ever see 'em again in a movie.

    No, because his death was one of the few that came withing spunking distance of being emotionally affecting during the first three films and I don't want any writers taking a big squirty dump over one of the few genuine emotional touchstones the series has.

    Well, given the extreme circumstances we were presented with (being shown that he was eroded down into nothing), here's my 2 cents:
    A)Retcon that whole incident by revealing that Ironhide actually cloned himself before that part, and that it was actually a double that got melted down instead;
    B)Reveal that Ironhide had scanned another vehicle form (especially since the GMC Topkick was discontinued) such as a Black Toyota RAV 4, or maybe a Black Toyota 4Runner;
    OR,
    C)Have a scenario like this guy presented:

    He's nothing but air now. Completely fell apart, rusted, and eroded into the wind (we breathe, ew).

    And plus, it's pointless to revive him a movie later. The Autobots seem to have more individuality than the Decepticons so that's why it's easy to bring them back. But an Autobot. That's an entirely different story.

    1. How would've Ironhide cloned himself? And he wasn't melted down. He was rested and eroded away by Sentinel's cosmic rust gun.
    2.How would Sentinel return after he was used in KSI and made into nothing but a head (or half a head at least)?

    Well, considering that this whole topic is a HUGE "What If" anyway, I was just being a little funny. . .o_O :D :rolleyes: ;)

    To me, killing off a character just because its alt-mode was discontinued(especially with this happening twice now) speaks to a huge lack of creativity and critical thinking. . .

    It's sad that they killed off the twins just because stupid people thought they were racist. But anyway, that is sad that they killed him off because of that.

    First off, as someone who is black and lives in a predominately black neighborhood, NO ONE, and I say NO ONE thought the twins were racist. The ONLY people I heard that complaint from are white people on the internet. Even all my white friends didn't think they were racist.

    In fact, anyone who thought they were somehow "racist" are the racist ones. Why? Because the twins were alien robots, that were green and orange, and had NOTHING that indicated that they were supposed to be black (one of the voice actors were white). Anyone who saw blacks in the characters simply were projecting what they thought of as a stereotypical black person, and if you think that is how black people act, I'm sorry but YOU'RE the racist.

    And if Skids and Mudflap are racist, than what is Jazz? Or Drift? Or The Wreckers? Shoot, by t

    I voted yes. Even though I know he is done in the movieverse until time travel or something haha. Again Ratchet could have hope since it spark could still be out there but that would take so much emotion out of AOE.

    I don't think Ironhide should come back. Maybe banter between he and Hound (maybe Crosshairs, too) would be fun, but after such a memorable and... thorough death, I can't see him coming back working.

    If Ironhide were to return, the only ways I can see it working are time travel or some mystical memory/personality storing McGuffin. Considering there seems to be an afterlife for Transformers, some way to tap into it and upload him back into a KSI drone, perhaps? That might be better than time travel because who knows what Ironhide surviving would do to the timeline, logically. How would he be saved? Would someone knock over Sentinel before he can kill Ironhide? If something like that happens — holy frag, time travelers! That might ripple to the rest of DOTM and thus lead to more time travel related headaches because of how it relates to AOE and then, probably, TLK. It would be a fun one shot comic, though.

    Short of rebooting or time-travel, I'd say he's not necessary as long as there's Hound. And if HE bites it in TF5, slot in Brawn.

    I'd love Ironhide to be back...only issue is I'd want them to do it in a good way, which I'm not confident would happen.

    I highly doubt they will since Ironhide was replaced with Hound as the weapons enthusiast. But Ironhide had an "age" about him which I enjoyed that Hound doesn't have.

    Well, the thread has been completely derailed. Please take it to pms or any thread dedicated to discussing racism in Bayverse. You can find a number of those those using the search feature.

    In response to the original topic, I'm going to say "no." Ironhide's death cements Sentinel as a traitor as much as anything Sentinel did in Chicago. Regardless of whether you like the execution, the impact of said death is too great to be reversed.
