Even last time they said all the main cast would get a Generations figure but it appears they didn't even contemplate designing a unique mould for Stinger, even though there were three off screen Dinobots and a random repaint of Crosshairs that couldn't have the name of the character it was homaging because that sounded like one of Chevrolet's other vehicles.

Hopefully there are enough unique characters that they'll each get a figure before the repaints appear.

Stores could be ordering too much stock while Hasbro still sees the sales they expected. That's why we typically see the later wave figures getting lost in the shuffle because stores almost invariably overload shelves leading up to a movies release which creates the bottle neck when the movie hype passes and the sales slow down as they get further past the release date.

But at that point it's on stores, as they'd be the ones who are ordering the stock. And when it comes to movie lines, it's not just Transformers that run into massive clearance and shelf-warming. Look at Minions, Secret Life of Pets, the GI Joe movies, etc, etc.

One of the reasons I'm not jumping at the giant $100 Megazord from the new MMPR movie is because it's almost inevitable those Zords are going to be flooding store shelves in April or so and will go into deep clearance by the end of the summer (if not sooner) when stores have to start making room for the Marvel, DC, and Transformers summer blockbuster tie-ins.

Ah now i see what you mean. But once again, I think its just because w are living in the now. I remember being super pissed at how shoddy FOC SOundwave was and his casette gimick not working well. You had to shave the sinde of his chest for the gimick to work. Animated Lockdown's hands wouldnt turn all the way and lock in. Those are both design issues. There's also all the widespread problems of the MP seeker mold, like the loose waist and the missassembly for the coneheads. And then there was RTS Wreck Gar who has horrible QC. G1 had shit QC too, so many kids were sad when their G1 car bots would just break on the first transformation due to the pressure exerted on the clear plastic windshield pieces.

What I think it is is that toys are more complex than before and thus the higher parts count means more possible problems. Makes sense right?

Just to say, that when dealing with these kinds of toys, that have more peices, there will be more problems and from my experience it hasnt gotten better or worse since the move to vietnam. Remember, Gen Rhinox' knees and Blitzwing's shoulders and face were huge problems, worse than anything TR or CW and they happened in the chinese production.

That\'s less than the marked price of deluxe here in New Zealand. If only we had prices like that :|

This exactly. People look back with rose coloured glasses and feel nostalgic for a time that didn't actually exist.

This price list was actually posted here in another thread, its from TRU. They already charge $19.99 in some stores for Generations deluxes. I wouldn't freak out about $20 deluxes until Target and Walmart also have them at that price.

They didn't pass it off as new.

Also, something that everyone seems to be forgetting is that Shadow Spark Optimus is an exclusive to Asian countries. It won't see a world-wide release.

If I remember last line, wave one was released in Canada almost 2 months early. Hope to see that again. I'm just obsessed about getting Voyager Optimus first.

I think it's unlikely at this point Hasbro would License the alt mode for Stinger again - unless there is some future cross over for a Stunticon that enable them to make sense doing it too. Or unless Takara/tomy has some deal they can use due to the Tomica line that would enable them to do it alone.

But I guess a new Stinger is a lot more probable than a Human alliance Topspin is. But someone is working on a 3rd party Dino at the moment so if that does well a reshelled Stinger is a logical follow on move.

I'd like to see them "Celebrate" Transformers 2007 and the way I really want that done would be with a 1970's Bumblebee with Modern engineering.
If they carry on making Bee MP toys i'm fine with that i'd be happy to see the Black 1960's body design in MP style too.
I'm sure an MP Ratchet would be very well recieved too.

Where did you see that? You may be correct and it may be somewhere in the news post, but I certainly missed that and I'm probably not the only one.

In the video the tag label for SS Optimus says "Asia Exclusive."

70's BB badly needs an update. 60's BB does as well. I think those are actually my two favorite on screen versions of BB.

Other than being red, what do Stinger and Dino have in common?

That would do it. It's front page news getting multiple stories and lots of pictures- if we have to watch a video to find this out I bet a lot of people missed this. Especially since he's a repaint of a toy most of us already have, so we have a pretty good idea of the toy's shape, size and general look (the main reason I often watch videos is to see what the pictures aren't conveying).

    Thank you.

On the plus side as an Asia exclusive the paint actually may look that way on the released toy. I was wary that it would simplified down to just black or grey airbrush blotches like the forest battle damaged ROTF Prime.
