I'm sure that if a situation calls for extra backup Soundwave will call in some Decepticons for help, but they don't LIVE on Earth, they live on the Jupiter space station. #1 has made it clear why Earth has to enter the council urgently - because with proof that Cybertronian tech is in the wild, that means the Tyrest Accord has been breached and will reprisals will follow if Earth remains unaffiliated. Further, Galvatron might be dead, but alien activity on Earth is increasing rapidly (Wraiths, Rom, Micronauts, now Junkions), and Galvatron has already warned that the Primes are returning too. Its protection is just as important as Cybertron - if not, in fact, MORESO, given how FEW Cybertronians there are to defend Earth, versus an entire planet's worth on Cybertron, WITH elected leadership.

But seriously - whining about Joes being in this? Give me a break. Half this group is the pre-existing human supporting cast of this book, just grouped under the name "G.I. Joe" instead of "Earth Defense Command." One name's been swapped out for the other, and they'd be in it either way.

It's not like Skywarp and Kup were getting a whole lot of focus where they were before. Do you want them to be in Transformers comics just for the sake of being there, even though the writers are more occupied with other characters and they probably still wouldn't get to do much aside from be there? Because I certainly prefer them being in these books where they have much more central roles and character development in--even if they don't have "Transformers" in the title. Like, I'm sure a large part of why Barber moved Kup over to Revolutionaries was because he just didn't have the space to really give him attention in OP; I remember an interview where he was going to elaborate more on Kup's time in the Dead Universe, but that never happened. Maybe now it can.

Also, with Revolutionaries having 3/4 of its regular cast from Transformers and an upcoming story focused on Predaking and Hearts of Steel, the book pretty much is a Transformers comic.

Not what I was asking, but it worked out alright because I don't actually remember any of that. So thanks.

All I meant by '?' was I honestly didn't know if I even had the right person. All these fleshy creatures look the same to me :p

But yeah, seriously tired. I still don't get why he's rambling about women and laundry, but I get the general idea of what he's saying having reread all the narration at once rather than interspersed with the rest of the story.

Although even tired I could tell my interest dropped as soon as GI Joe showed up and nothing has changed that. Ironically I might pick up Revolutionaries, I liked the Action Man Revolution issue so if it is more of that +Predaking then I should be fine there.

there are those of us who specifically avoid Marvel/DC books for that very reason.
a major problem with the big two is how plot points for one book will travel to another, forcing a reader to pick up a book they don't care about in order to keep up.

let's just say you're Spider Man fan. you like the street level crimefighting and dont rely care much for the rest of the marvel U
well now Venom, one of your favorite villains, has been yanked from your book, and is going on space adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and later on he comes back to earth, with a whole mess of new powers and a new personality. and you're wondering what the fuck happened to my brain eating vigilante?

Transformers is a big enough franchise that it can sustain it's own universe (and in some cases, Multiverse). and it has for 11 years now with idw.
I read Transformers books because I enjoy giant robots beating the shit out of each other, with some political intrigue and character moments tossed in for flavor.

I dont give a shit about the Micronauts
    I dont like GiJoe
I am indifferent to Rom the Spaceknight
I dont know enough about Action man to even hold a strong opinion about him
    I dont care about M.A.S.K.

and I don't want to buy/read their books for important plot points in the stories i actually care about.

I don't actually mind the crossover stuff personally as I grew up with & like all those franchises. For me it's just that none of them feel tonally like I imagine them. I may not want them as goofy or cheesy as 80s toons, but this joyless brooding slog just isn't how I imagine any of them acting.

Not all characters are meant to be complex or multifaceted imo. Some are archetypal and that's what I want from them, no matter how well worn that may be. The story can change naturally and some arc is great... but it has to FEEL right to me (subjective) or I tune out.

I second the sentiments on gi joe in a TF comic, let's be honest, earth interaction with TF's is and always will be forced. The only realistic thing was AHM, with decepticons decimating earth. Humans can't go to mars. TF's have space bridges, it's like making cats be on the level with humans when it comes to technology, it would be forced, nobody would take a Heath cliff comic serious if all of sudden he was a scientist in a comic book creating nuclear bombs. Same thing with so much attention from TF's for humans. When you have so many other organic species almost on par with TF's within in the Galatic council. Honestly I have no problem with humans in TF's just hate the way it's forced in. Which in turn makes the comic bad. TF's liking earth culture like in MTMTE, cool, that's believable, needing to bring humans into the cybertonian council of worlds? Earth is more important to prime than his native cybertron? Humans haven't always been the dominant species on earth anyway. In reality if their war lasted 4 million years. Modern humans weren't even around for 3.8 million years of their war. It's way too forced is all I'm saying.

Because I didn't read the entire Revolution thing so this is new to me? The last I knew Skywarp defected to the EDC and that's the last time he appeared, so OF COURSE I would wonder why he hadn't appeared.

Because... you know, you can't guarantee people here read the GI Joe comic?

Skywarp was only in the G.I. Joe: Revolution tie-in, but was in EDC custody since Ex-RiD #56.
