I just got my reissue of Growl yesterday. Growl looks awesome but there seems to be something wrong with the tail section. The brackets that hold the tail in place push the torso section outwards when the tail pieces are together, the stretch feels unhealthy or poorly designed. Is it like this on the original issue of the toy? Ive been searching for info but may have missed something in the 170+ page thread.

Will post some pics when i get back home.

You know, that extra shoulder piece that comes with each arm bot that you can use to connect them to the torso. It looks like an after thought, as the arms can attach directly to Grimlock. In fact, one of the early digital shots (the one with the red background on page 1) doesn't even use them. All I am pointing out, is that shoulder extension piece has it's own joint, meaning that you have double shoulder joints. I have a feeling after reading through most of these pages that people are missing out on these little details that helps when posing. If you try to move blade upward with the shoulder joint that is a part of blade, most likely blade will pop out of place due to clearance issues, but if you use the joint that is built into the shoulder extension piece, you will get much more poseability out of it.

Only a few mm difference but the biggest concern is the angle difference? Is this the same as everyones?

I'm pretty sure I don't have that problem. Mine is combined and not moving anytime soon, so I can't check, but it looks like possibly the black hinge pieces were installed backwards? Like maybe the thick side should be on the outside instead of the inside? Maybe someone who has theirs a little more accessible than mine could verify.

I will take mine apart sometime this weekend and check for you... at least by Sunday (need to clean my office this weekend and am doing a LOT of shredding).

Besides, I need to take him apart since I'm thinking of making a video or picture tutorial... Never seen so many mistranformations ever on a figure before. Arms, panels, joints, tabs, legs, tail on arm not flushed or locked in place in combined mode, thunderous split in the back causing unevenness (there is actually to ways to mistransform Thunderous, one way makes that leg too tall and another makes it too short...... errors all over the place all throughout this site and youtube.... hell, I've even seen people taping parts of this guy with electrical tape...... it hurts my eyes. If this guy is a floppy mess, 85% chance it's the persons fault. But I will admit, I find him the most difficult of any figure to transform between all three modes (and I find figures like Appollyon, Intimidator and the masterpiece robotech cyclone SIMPLE, easy and only taking minutes..hell I only look at the instructions once and have it memorized forever) but this guy... he can be difficult, but if one does everything correctly then it really is an amazing piece. And since this is a made up concept, I doubt we will ever get anything this good again for a dinobot combiner.

/facepalm...... Tontus314 was correct. Reversing the socket on the tail side gave it the extra 1-2mm required. Fits like a charm. Unfortunately the socket on the torso holding the left tail section is cracked.

This is the first 3rd party figure that has had issue for me. I'm speechless at how simple of a fault it was and that it wasn't QA properly.

Checked emgo316 review of Growl and it can be seen that the screws for the tail hinge should be on the out side, mine arrived in the reverse i.e. screws on the inside. 4m36s in
. If you have ordered/received a reissue Growl check for this before you accidentally damage the toy/Masculine collectors item.

GREAT FIND! I am sure there are people that will run into this. Glad you figured out the issue with yours. My Growl reissue had two left neck pieces. I sent the photos to BBTS, and even though it had been a month later that I got around to actually opening him, they still sent in the replacement part. Since the left neck joint is pinned to the left Dino head piece, the just sent the whole neck/head parts.

This guy scales great with every combiner I have. If he's too big, that's fine, it's a dinobot combiner for Christ sakes. However.... the newest wave of combines are going to be Masterpiece scale (Toyworld, Fanstoys & Transformission). I am worried he will become "small". :/

Is there anywhere I can still get Wrath? Are they going to restock him?
I finally saved up enough money to finish this set and now Wrath is gone.

Once I saw Growl and Thunderous disappearing I got very worried about this set not being restocked and got everything at once. You are going to have to hunt for Wrath on eBay and it is going to take time and be expensive.

Here you go. This person also has the others up for auction.

I'm guessing you aren't using the black adaptor pieces that came with Wrath. At least I think they came with Wrath.

Yeah, I finally found a post where someone mentioned them. Looks like mine wasn't packed with the pieces. For now at least, made due with a little duct tape wrapped around the tabs. Made them thick enough to fit the ports without the adapter. Sad, I got this a year ago but only just discovered I was missing pieces. Not much I can do about it now...
