How long is this running for? Might stop by the local GS tomorrow after work since it's right next to the grocery gas station I use my points at if it's running through the week.
My local GameStop still has signs hanging everywhere that say, buy one get one 50% off. No mention at all of a buy one get one free deal. I wouldn't have known about it if it wouldn't have been for a friend mentioning it. Of course he got all the good stuff before I got there. Oh well.
The GameStop I stopped in had five of their DC pint size heroes left, so I grabbed all but one of them. Definitely worth the dollar a piece I paid for them, but I might even get some at normal retail if my LCS ever has them in and I've got some extra cash on me. I got the normal black and gray Batman, the normal Harley Quinn, the Riddler, and the GameStop exclusive Batman. I definitely want some of the others. Especially Batman Beyond and Nightwing. I feel like they're a little overpriced and kinda pointless, but I like them. I kinda hope they do more DC waves in the future. A Superman themed set or a Justice League themed set would be cool. Oh, and DC-TV set would be nice.
Yea, they are a bit overpriced at $4. I think at $3 they'd be perfect, because they do have a lot of paint and detail on them, which I was surprised about. Nightwing is a GameStop exclusive, just FYI. I got 9 bags and ended up with Earth 2 Batman, Robin, Burnside Batgirl, Joker, Two-Face, Penguin x2, and normal Harley x2. The extra Harley and Penguin I sold to my friend at cost for $1 each.
Got an e-mail from Funko thanking me for being a loyal customer in their Marvel Collector Corps. As a thank you they're going to send me a free "mystery" box from one of their other subscription services, either Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty or DC collectibles. Anybody else get this e-mail? So either they're not doing well that they're trying to get people to subscribe to more boxes or they're just sitting on a crapload of boxes that they want to get rid of. I know back before Christmas they were selling old boxes for only $15.
Hot Topic Resident Evil Tyrant is starting to show up. FYE leaked the following Overwatch POPs for Wave 2: Symmtera, 6" Reinhardt, Lucio, and a two-pack which is likely FYE exclusive and probably just two previously released figures in one pack, since FYE likes doing that. They could be metallic too. This likely isn't all the figures in Wave 2, as we know a McCree is coming and there will likely be more Blizzard exclusives. Wal-Mart is getting an exclusive Tekken Nina POP. Should be out in January. Online retailers are starting to get in the commons for Resident Evil and Witcher. John Wick is also out. January is going to be a big month!
Box Lunch Overwatch Reaper Exclusive just went live out of nowhere: Funko Pop! Overwatch Reaper - BoxLunch Exclusive | BoxLunch Based on the Wraith Form ability. I'm sure they will get in plenty at my local Box Lunch but there is only one store in a 50-mile radius, so I just paid the $7 extra to get it shipped for peace of mind. I've got all the other OW POPs at this point, it's worth it to secure one and not have to check the one Box Lunch on a daily basis.
Wave 2 Overwatch Pops have been confirmed. The 2 pack is rumored to be the Shimada brothers. Reinhardt (6 inches) Lucio Symmetra 2 Pack Also have shots of the movie/reboot Power Rangers Pops.
Been waiting for my TRU to restock the Teen Titans Dorbz and finally got the White Raven! I'll never own the POP version so this one is good enough for me. They had all the rest but I'll wait for them to hit other stores, since the regular versions are just first to market. I've got a Resident Evil Tyrant on hold at my local Hot Topic that I'm picking up tomorrow as well.
Took advantage of that GameStop B1G1 clearance sale one last time and grabbed two Suicide Squad Mystery Mini boxes for $3 total -- got Katana and GameStop exclusive GitD Joker. I'm happy with these! Better than generic looking crap like Rick Flagg. Katana fits in nicely with the DC Mystery Minis they put out previously and I stuck Joker with my BvS Batman Mini display. Picked up Tyrant today and he is awesome. Easily one of Funko's best 6" POPs yet. All the local Hot Topics around me sold out pretty much instantly, which is pretty rare these days.
I have to say, GameStop is the absolute worst when it comes to advertising any kind of a sale. I never know what kind of deals they have going on, and half the time the employees don't know either.
I looked, and they honestly had nothing else I wanted. It was weird. Everything was either from stuff I don't care for it already had. Still, the Hunter was a worthy solo score.
Totally. I only know about the sale because it was all over Reddit and GameStop has a bunch of new POPs online that don't seem to be in stores yet, at least around me (Sweet Tooth, all the Witcher 3 stuff). I put the Hunter on hold at my local store along with the '89 Batman. B1G1 50% off isn't so hot a deal anymore when GameStop marks the prices of their commons up to $11.99 a piece... the stupid Hunter is $18.99??? That just seems like an insane price to me.
