hulkie is shit materials and bad qc. looks and feels like it's made of erasers. not a lick of paint. can't stand the collapsing hips. i can't believe they haven't sent out a fix for the shoulders. dx9 is pathetic. i paid $160 for this piece of shit. they said the ko will have improvements. i wonder what they are. got the yellow one ordered as it's limited to 500 pieces.

He doesn't and peaces is exagerrating to his biases. Yeah, Hulkie has his quirks, but nothing debilitating. I think the thing that annoys me the most of the lot is simply Mixmaster's feet. His legs just don't look right with all the forced angles needed to make him stand.

Plastic is not soft at all. It's very thick and solid. But it's molded with a matte finish that gives it a soft texture.

I've handled one. Aside from his "not a lick of paint" comment, he's pretty much right. It does have paint apps but the rest of Hulkie is just ... "wtf $150 for this seemingly dollar-store level of product?"

I can't take anyone seriously who thinks hulkie is dollar store quality. Mine is as high quality as any other figure I own. Someone of my favorite legends class figs in that team.

I have to partially agree with Peaces, Hulkie isn't the best quality. I have all the DX9 War in Pocket figures, and all of them feel cheaper than the Iron Factory releases. The plastic feels soft and doesn't have as nice of a finish as many other 3rd party figures. I wouldn't go as far as to say that he is dollar store quality though. I still paid the $130 for Hulkie knowing what I would get. I don't regret picking him up, but he was still overpriced even at the reduced $130 price tag.

War in Pocket is not the same quality level as Iron Factory. It's still good, I enjoy my Hulkie, but he's not on the level of IF gear.

I find it funny that when IF figures were first coming out, they were using DX9 as a benchmark of plastic quality for comparisons. Having initially bought into the legends scale with IF I was naturally curious, so I decided to try out some DX9 product and bought the campaigner box set. I must say I prefer IF more when it comes to quality and design. I feel that DX9 compromises too much on the proportions of their bots, has lazy transformation and there is a glaring lack of paint on their figures. Right now for me, DX9 products acts as a placeholder for characters that IF hasn't announced yet.

Plastic quality is good. For mine, half the joints are nice and tight and the other half are loose. Unfortunately, the loose joints on mine are all pins, so not an easy thing for me to fix. I really like it though, paid $50 for it.

You might want to read some of the impressions over on its thread. I've only played around with my two sets for a couple of weeks now but they seem great for the price:

So I do find it interesting that some of the people supportig Hulkie here are the same ones that shitpost up a storm in the Iron Factory threads. You'll go do it somewhere else but it's not allowed here, eh?

Hulkie is my first DX9, I'm a die hard IF fan. especially since IF bruticus got announced. In general, the legends class 3P figures appeal to me most, because i like to display my figures. and you cant display 400 figures on 2 detolfs otherwise.

Then you'll find yourself in good company, my man! Lotta passionate Legends collectors in these parts. But be forewarned -- there are some extreme partisans who seem to think liking DX9 requires hating/dissing IF (and vice versa). :stick:

Any of you guys ever figure out some sort of fix for the heels of Devastator? I've noticed this guy likes to fall backwards a lot.

Hulkie is great but DX9/IF figures have both evolved in quality and ambition since then.
