Hey, i picked up a loose armada unicron at botcon, and it was fine at first, for a few hours after i got it. now it cant keep the chest missle in. everytime i shut it it just shoots back out. yesterday i got it to stay closed all day and not try to kill me, but today i pushed my luck and fired it, and now it wont stay in again. any known trick to fix this or shall he be displayed cannon out for all time? thanks -nik
This is exactly what mine was doing just a little while ago. I have it stored for almost 1 and a half years in planet mode, and when changing it to bot mode the missle kept firing over and over again. The only solution i came up to for solving it was to take apart Unicron and fix the launcher from inside. It seems the launcher works off a spring inside the main body. There are four screws in the back (yellow part) and four more in the lower (grey part) that need to be removed. Then you can strech the sping inside the chest so that it doesn't shoot off as easily. It's important to note that you don't wanna over-strech the spring as it will prevent the missle from firing properly (or at all) is it's streched too much. So pull it a bit, then place it back and see if that work. Repeat until it is the desired effect. Hope that helps. I might be able to get pictures if you want. Would need to find my camera firs though.
Have you tried pushing the barrel in the chest real hard until it clicks?? I had a similar problem, the damn thing just wouldn't lock. So I lost my nerve and pushed real hard, until it clicked. Just don't mind the chest piece, they can distract you a bit, because when you push the barrel they close imediately, and you think that's enough for the barrel to stay in. It can go in a bit more still. Altough there's a chance you might have to open it to fix it.
yeah, its going in all the way and clicking, it seems the problem is that he is just on a hair trigger, and it mostly goes off within a second after i puish it in (doors close, he gets moved, or it just randomly shoots) its staying now, ill try opening him up later when i have time and reporting back. thanks for the help so far!
Well you could always do what I did, I just took the spring out. I didn't like the missile launching gimmick anyway, more mini-con storage or a voicebox/electronics of some sort would've been much cooler in my opinion.
