I was a Bucs fan beginning of their 1976 expansion year and I was 13 yrs old. Some people laughed at me for it. But I was there when they won their very first game against the Saints at the Superdome on 12/11/77. When they won the 2003 Superbowl, it was a team that Dungy built, not Gruden.

 

Yeah I think Gruden is kind of an idiot but he was smart enough to quit while he was ahead and also not be suckered back into coaching so he wouldn't expose how overrated he was/is.

Boys pulled it out. yay. Can I stop wanting them to win now? As a skins fan I don't think we need any more help but I'm not sure.

Believe it or not that 1977 game is on youtube somewhere. I have it downloaded somewhere too. With commercials. I even have the following game against the Cardinals where they tore the goal posts down...

 

Gruden is a blowhard. Short little fella too. Only 5'-5", tops. I met him at an Orlando Predators game years ago (his brother, Jay, who is the real coaching brains in the family IMO, played for the Preds at the time). I told coach that we'd beat the Storm in the rematch next month in Tampa and he slapped my ass and told me to keep my head up! Slapped my ass! WTH ?

 

Proud of the Bucs. Gave Dallas everything they could handle. My prediction, sadly, came true though. I said the Bucs would play them tough but Dallas's depth would win out in the end and it did.

That said, I don't see the Bucs going to the playoffs though. I think 9-7 is do-able though. I have a strange suspicion that the Packers or Skins will sneak in. That Skins tie is like an extra half win in a way...

I still feel dirty today from rooting for the Cowboys last night in order to help Atlanta's playoff aspirations.

 

Same, except Washington in my case.

 

As a Bucs fan I can attest that the NFC South is freaking hard man, I think it is one of the toughest divisions in the league after the AFC west and NFC east. The south is won only through attrition, unlike the AFC south, which is somehow led by the freaking Texans for some insane reason...

 

That's was the organization's fault. They caused Bo to lose eligibility for his last baseball season at Auburn and thus he chose to play baseball and he only played for Raiders because Al Davis allowed him to play a full MLB season before joining in football activities.

 

I know we sure as hell don't want to play them in the playoffs.
