I believe bumblebee will survive, but I don't think he could be the new prime. He might be a leader, but not a Prime, I feel that they want to make a homage to rid2015

 

Saw the trailer yesterday. Last Knight of Unicron?
But other than that: Does look like the same stuff we always get.

So I'm gonna see 'Rogue One' today and am expecting to see TLK trailer in the previews, is there a chance?

 

^ I had the IMAX trailer in front of RO IMAX last night. It was most (if not all IIRC) in the IMAX giant-fill-the-screen ratio.

Just watched Rogue One here in Malaysia. No TLK trailer, only Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Power Rangers. Bummer. Rogue One was awesome, though.

I think this is the most talkable trailer we've ever gotten from a Micheal Bay Transformers movie. Really this is the second trailer I've seen in years (The first being the Force Awakens trailer) that I can speculate about things that aren't blatantly obvious in the trailer. Plus I think this is even better than the Force Awakens trailer because I have even more to speculate about than I did when that came out.

First off... the Dragon looking thing I think is actually just Strafe AKA Micheal Bay's version of Swoop. So the Dinobots from the last movie are back. At first I thought there were two of them but I've come to realize the other was a reflection in the water... which should be distorted, that image is way too clear to be a reflection. I hope they fix that in the final film.

They show a lot of images from past points in history. Now here's the thing about that... every single movie so far has mentioned or shown some point in Earth's history where Transformers have been around without us even realizing it. However there's clips from different historical periods rather than just one and we've never had full on clips from different points in History appearing in the same movie before. Usually it's just one point in history that gets shown or mentioned not multiple points being shown. So I wander how Medieval Times and World War 2 are both going to play into the plot.

Then there's the big hole that everyone keeps saying that looks like Unicron... Which I agree that does look a lot like the close up of Unicron's mouth in planet mode from the original movie but they also show ships flying into it. If that was Unicron why would vehicles be willingly flying into his mouth?

Then there's a shot that looks like Optimus is dead floating in space. The last movie ended with him flying into space to look for the creators. Did he die before he could find them? Did they kill him? Are they even in this movie? They were hinted at a lot in AoE so kind of weird that there's no hints about them in this trailer.

Then there's a shot of what looks like Unicron's horn... now here's the thing about that. Unicron's horns are around his mouth and the surface around the horn looks like an entirely different place than where ever that hole was earlier. We went from a fully robotic looking surface to a sandy desert looking surface. Plus considering the structure of the horn itself it doesn't really look like something that belongs there. Maybe a piece of Unicron's horn broke off and landed in this desert, maybe there's more buried under the sand. I don't really know.

A few shots later there's what looks like a giant planet heading for a smaller planet but this does not look like Unicron. Though it does look a planet about to eat another planet the G1 style mouth section hinted at in the previous Unicron shots are no where to be seen here. Instead it looks more like Gobotron than Unicron. There's another shot from the surface that looks like Gobotron is biting down like a mouth... though for some reason not actually hitting anything.

A few shots later we have what looks like Optimus Prime except in this shot his colors seem darker than normal, almost black like this is meant to be Motormaster/Scourge/Nemesis Prime. Then we see him attack Bumblebee and his colors are back to normal... not sure why they're so dark in that close up. He also says "Forgive me" which sounds very similar to the tone of Sentinel Prime in Dark of the Moon asking Optimus to forgive him. This trailer seems to want us to think that Optimus is a traitor the same way that Sentinel was. However I don't believe they would ever do that with Optimus.

I don't really know what to make of all the possible Unicron imagery. However I do have a theory about the stuff with Optimus. Based on what we know from the previous movies, what we see in the trailer, and the unlikelyhood that he could actually be a traitor...

Optimus flies off into space to look for the creators just like he said he would at the end of AoE. Not really knowing where to look he eventually runs out of Energon and is left floating in space with no power. He's eventually found by a passing alien space ship... possibly the creators he was looking for in the first place... who fit him with a device that allows them to control his actions remotely. They also wipe his memory of them and return him back to Earth where he's revived having no memory of his encounter with Lockdown or leaving the Earth. The creators track him for a while till he leads them to the other Autobots. At which point they take control over Optimus forcing him to attack his friends. Aware but unable to control his actions Optimus appoligies to his friends from the attack. Basically the forgive me line we hear in the trailer is taken out of context as I believe immediately after that he probably continues to say "I'm not in control of my actions." The Autobots fight with Optimus for a while before finally finding a device attached to his back that shouldn't be there and destroying it. Once freed Optimus goes back to leading the Autobots and stopping the creators from doing whatever it is they were trying to do that is probably in some way connected to Unicron.

 

Are transformers still considered radioactive, like in the first movie?

 

Well they obviously give a unique energy reading, and yes I think that's still a thing. That's how they could track them.

 

Energon readings took over that really.

 

TLK trailer>Rouge One.

 

The teaser looked absolutely fantastic on the big screen in front of Rogue One. The finished product will look visually stunning regardless of how the film itself turns out.

 

I also got to see the TLK trailer in IMAX w/ Rogue One last night. Looked f'n sick but I'm disappointed that they didn't play it in 3D.

Been looking at tons of reaction videos to the teaser and SO MANY PEOPLE keep on screaming "IS THAT BUMBLEBEE??" when it shows that mysterious yellow bot xD There's a reason Bumblebee is the primary yellow robot in any of these films.

 

This may have been mentioned already and I missed it, but the more I watch the trailer and look at the movie poster just released I think the one fighting Bumblebee is Nemises Prime and Optimus at the end is coming back to life. Optimus seems to me a bit angry.

Or, somehow the Optimus get shot into space by us and somehow gets cleansed. Either way, he still doesn't look happy.

 

I wonder if Michael Bay is paying a tribute to James Cameron, by the similar design in the water platform, Bee and Optimus fight on, and the underwater alien ship in the movie the Abyss?
