Co's the 3p are all based in China where no one cares about IP infringement or downright theft. Luckily for us really

The doors would probably end up a light gray instead of white, though... ;)

Same reason HasTak doesn't go after them for using their bots' likeness?

Slightly better picture than the one I'd seen before. (actually the picture is worse, but it shows him more clearly)

    Probably
    - 3P MP is a really2 niche market, trying to sue probably costs more, so not worth it money-wise
    - it's China factory, US laws doesn't apply

When lawyers are involved one can never tell, it just depends on the company.

Porsche has really deep pockets, guess ultimately the question becomes whether or not Porsche put enough pressure on N.American retailers that they wouldn't want to take the chance maybe?

Sure, Porsche may have deep pockets, but is it worth shelling out that kind of money to stop the production of a few thousand toys of which 99+% of the public outside Asia is unaware and will never see? I have no idea how well the 3P market is known and how well it sells in Asia, but even if it is higher there, is it worth fighting a legal battle you are likely to lose in IP careless China?

Real chinese car companies rip off other car designs. They look practically identical.

Yep, and they usually lose those lawsuits. Id laugh if Porsche sued a 3p TF company, they need to spend money figuring out how to improve their gas mileage, not suing toy companies. This might end up being my favorite 3p of 2017, wondering if they will make a stepper too.

Yeah unless Porsche hires Batman - who has no jurisdiction, and would make them squeal - to destroy the entire 3P complex over there, there's not a ton they can really do on a pragmatic level (other than exert pressure on Western retailers not to carry the products.)

Agree that the face seems off... Here is a couple tweaks that might help.

I still don't understand why people take the up-turned visor from the character model so seriously. It's just how his face geometry looks when viewing it from slightly below. You force it and then it starts looking wrong from other angles, like his profile view.

That's definitely what I'd prefer but... since they give me this options at least:

    15391291_1418557141496485_1908589927295888428_o (2).jpg

    I'll take it!

The "helmet" is shaped somewhat like a baseball cap. It's got an angular curve to it. The visor begins where the helmet does. Since the helmet isn't straight, but angled upwards, where the visor begins should also be shaped that way... at least for my ideal Jazz it should. Not telling anyone else what they should see or want. To me, it's not some sort of optical illusion. It's really how the visor is shaped.

Yeesh, you guys are nitpicking the face? That's like the one part of the figure that is pretty much the best part.
The only downsides really are just the kinda bleh detailing and the simplistic decals / paint placements (which toyhax could remedy).
That face is pure win. The upturned visor is so dumb in comparison.

You guys keep making the face way too fat, looks super awkward. MP Bumblebee fat face awkward. Not appropriate for Jazz as a character imo.

Also the visor in the toon didn't angle up to that much of an extreme. The difference between it and the straight top shape of MT's is like 4-6 degrees, not 20-35 like you keep editing it to look like.

Also pretty funny how the g1 model sheet itself isn't even consistent with its shape/face proportions. haha

The story I got was that Phillip Morris were concerned about being sued themselves for having their sigil on a child's toy...

    Anyway,

I like the face. I think it's just how it sits and is sculpted that makes it look thin in the helmet (but it's not really). In person I bet it's better..he just has hard sculpted lines on his face.

Yup, their are even tonnes of photos already proving this but people seem to be focusing on the one closeup face shot and ignoring these, where it looks just fine.

And look, from a low angle the visor looks shaped almost exactly like the toon one because you aren't looking at it from a high angle where of course its going to seem more flat at the top.

Like I said the other day, its just the hard cut off of the sides of the face that make it seem thin, that and how it tapers to a pointier chin. But with MT's sculpt it looks great as is.

Someone took a screenshot of a conversation that a guy had with an OM member, where they asked if they had plans to do a Jazz, and they confirmed they did. I don't have the screenshot any more, and it seems to have disappeared from the web. Perhaps their plans have changed, but I think it's fairly likely they will throw their hat in the ring when the time comes.
