I like the fact that he basically explodes to transform.

But I feel like this is going to be another Laserwave for me, a design which I like alot, but completely ignored because of a shit paint scheme.
I get the Cartoon look Takara is going for, but how hard would it be to repaint Laserwave in a darker, more toy accurate purple?
I would love to have this guy if they repainted him in either Silver or Black, as is, the Grey is just beyond bland for me to pay the premium that he asks for.

To both you and @Liampope Is it as you thought?

And as I just only now saw those transformation magazine scans... HOLY... FREAKING... BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry  :rock :jawdropper:  Takara are   in the best possible way.

NO PARTS FORMING. That does it. This is their most brilliant design to date. Easily (IMHO.)

Definitely most of what I had figured out. The torso is brilliantly done and the legs are a bit more complicated than I had thought with how everything moves.
In my opinion it is Takara's best to date.

Think exactly the same with the MP. MP-05 was a ***** to transform and was and is SO unstable.

Yup, what I see looks utterly amazing.

So far also nothing about a stupid diecast fig, or did I miss something?
HereĀ“s hope for a great anthracite chromed coin...

Yeah , but it had very very skinny legs, a big scope for its arm, fragile diecast, heavy parts, this at least looks very posable without problem.

Totally agree. And I also agree with those who say, while complex, it's not THAT complicated (certainly not overly complicated imo.) It all looks like it breaks down LOGICALLY. Torso, leg explosion and reshuffle, arms, and just slowly fit everything together. Each section has its own major transformation by the looks of it. It kind of happens in stages and then it's just about fitting it together. Like I said, LOGICAL.

It doesn't look insanely complicated or unstable at all to me. It looks like it will take a few tries to become intuitive, and not as simple as Shockwave obviously, but just about as elegant as it could possibly be and still do what it needs to, while being STRONG and STABLE in both modes.

I'm honestly kind of floored to be frank lol.

Wow! This was a great update, I'm so very much looking forward to Megatron's arrival!!

Is anyone working on a translation of the text from those scans? I'm curious about what information lies within.

Reminds me a lot of how MP-22 Ultra Magnus is done in phases, but each phase has (to use your term) a logic to it, and then it all fits together snug at the end.

I personally don't see it being that difficult of a transformation. A little more involved, sure, but I think it'll be easier in hand than you'd think. It's a smart transformation and impressive work. Blows MP-05 out of the water. (Though, in all fairness, MP-05 was made in ridiculous record time and I still commend the designer for 2 weeks worth of work. Amazing.)

Still really unsure about this guy. I have one on order but I'm really only going to be able to tell once in hand if he replaces my Despotron or goes straight on eBay.

Wow, aligning all the panels looks fiddly in alt mode. No way am I getting this figure until others have reviewed it.

I'm the only one who thinks that the megatron from these scans it's still a prototype and not the final product?

True but it's also not trying to turn into a vehicle though.

Anyone who thinks this transformation looks too complicated needs to go back and check out the instructions for MP-5 again. This one actually looks pretty straight forward compared to that.
