I have been working on a weapon for the Brawl to IDW Greenlight and I am looking for some feedback. I am considering doing a spear or bo as she is pictured with in the comic but I was thinking of using cannons and a knife to form it. So I made a tank cannon muzzle for the front of Brawls tank cannon which serves as a connector to another top mounted cannon, which has a slot for a knife to become the end of the spear. Here is a concept of it so far. Still WIP. It would stand a little taller than Brawl:

 

Since I am doing IDW Greenlight from a CW figure, it seemed only natural to do the same for IDW Lancer. I still need to pull the head down in the joint a little but it will be done after a few more tests. This particular head can fit on the deluxe CW arial bots that have a 4mm peg (i.e., not Fireflight and not the Helicopters - those have 6mm pegs). Personally, I thought she looks most like her comic self on this one:


This head will fit on the Terradive mold too but it looks to short for that mold. I am tweaking a version of this head to look right with Terradive.

More ideas. What do you all think about an IDW female combiner from those Alex Milne concepts (optionally including Lancer and Greenlight since I already modeled them)?
For the IDW combiner, here are some options:

Velocity - Mirage
Lancer - Helicopter
Greenlight - Tank
Firestar - Arialbot
Roadmaster - Jeep
Javelin - Shockwave
Proxima - Onslaught
Head - Mistress of Flame

The nice thing about this is its almost a straight conversion from a G2 bruticus + a mirage for Velocity. Fyi, G2 bruticus is on hasbrotoyshop.com for 59.99 with the HOLIDAY16 promo code. I ordered a set. Also, they have Victorion for $49.99. You add those together then you get $20 off the total. So that is like getting a Victorion for $39.99.

Generally, I think I will do versions of these heads to fit whatever CW figure you want to put it on if possible. Then people can make their IDW combiner however they want. Of course I still need to do heads for IDW Firestar, Javelin, Proxima, Mistress of Flame, and Velocity.

Also regarding a non combining mistress of flame, Animated Blurr might work.

 

Although I'm not familiar with most of the comic characters, looking at their designs and the bodies you're thinking for them, I like the idea. For now though I'd only really be in for certain ones to repurpose for my OC femmebot combiner.

 

I added a G1 Chromia because I want to make one as part of my G1 Female Combiner Team. Personally, I am going to use all cars for mine, so expect a chestplate for this in the future. But, i can do a version of this for groove/afterburner if there is a demand for it.


Here is G1 Chromia on Breakdown (need to tweak her ball joint socket height a bit still) along with my IDW Lancer on both the Helicopter (6mm balljoint) and a plane (4mm ball joint):

 

That looks nice...I wish we'd get a Cybertronian Chromia eventually...from Hasbro...of course after the other femmes get some love...I may grab the IDW style parts for Greenlight & Lancer...need to get the bodies I'll be using for them...

(Not femme related...but...with TR about to produce a Jumpstarter brother...the other can't be that far off...what about Rack'n'Ruin kits/parts for the FOC Topspin & Twin Twist molds...could be a good idea...)

Chromia chestplate for CW Breakdown. Parts fit nicely but still tweaking proportions. I propotioned it based on Breakdown when I should have taken a look at the Victorion version of breakdown.


And after her roboboob job:

 

Call me crazy but I kind of like Elita 1 from CW Motormaster/Prime. Maybe the head is too small. The alternative Transformation here is perhaps too in your face. Also she needs a hand swap but that is pretty easy. But at least it differentiates her from the others in this mold family a little.


I am planning on seeing what Firestar looks like on this too. Basically, I got a G2 Mensor on the way so I can have enough cars to do the combiner teams I want.

Also makes me think that this might be a good Strika.

You mean her boobs, right? Are you thinking Jumpstream size? Jumpstream's chest is about 2mm bigger than my Chromia's current chest. I'd say its about 1mm per cup size. I will experiment with this.

also, Re: head size of elita-motormaster: Yes her head has similar dimensions to Primes head. Her horns actually stick out more than primes though. Currently, I have to turn her head to the side to transform, but it works fine that way.

Nice! Admittedly, when I said Onslaught for Strika, I meant the Universe Ultra-class Onslaught from a few years back, but I'm really digging the Rook-Strika!

 

I'm liking Strika on the Motormaster body. Alt mode type might be wrong, but the robot mode proportions are perfect for her. Also the colors of the G2 version would work so well for her.

 

I am gonna do Univ Onslaught for Strika (see the pics a few pages back). I just haven't put it up on Shpeways yet. That is going to be my goto Strika.

 

I love it! Consider the Deluxe-scale head bought once you release it...I wonder now, though, if that Voyager-scale one could fit onto the oversized KO Rook figure I've seen around..?

Not a Shapeways update but I happened to have plastic filaments that were exact color matches for G2 Bruticus Brawl and Swindle, which I am turning into IDW Greenlight and Lancer. I have not painted the faces yet but that is all I am going to paint! Woohoo!

Somehow Lancer looks almost red in the picture but she is really an eye searing neon orange. Also, Greenlight is a deeper green. If you have G2 Bruticus, then you can compare. Perhaps I should stop taking pictures with my crappy webcam...

So now my gals are going to go on a date and get attacked by Decepticons! Romance at its best!
