Man, you are SOOO right about that. Great observation.

It's funny they use the word "evolution".. It's one of my biggest complaints of them. They're not going from simple to complex.. They have gone from super simple, to complex, to now simple AND super cheap.

"Better primes" is not much to say if we talk only about the voyagers actually.

No idea either. Maybe it was a scrapped design? You know, like the preliminary first movie Megatron design?

Also I'm sensing a Jojo fan here. Your next line is "right you are, now experience the power of Za Warudo!"

    Can't wait to get that!

A good Christmas gift this year would be a reveal of a few more TLK toys. I would love to see Cogman, The Red Car, Barricade and Onslaught toys.

They really have evolved. IF you go by this video. As mentioned earlier in the thread, HFTD Optimus was nearly as good as the Leader Class version. That said, this new TLK one looks to be a solid second place.

The new Prime figure looks nice, and much more accurate. But I'm not a fan of the eyes, the dark grey plastic and the clunky backpack. I'm also not a fan of the lack of effort that was put into his sword.. But! nothing gundam markers and sharpies can't fix~!

Dear God that is what we\'re getting for TLK Optimus?! Such a dissapointment for a design that I like.

Wow. That's a voyager. Nice. If the rest of the movie toys is on that level then Hasbro will rack in the dough!
That mold and great paint job is up there with the best.

Evasion is an infinitely better figure than HFTD. It's way more fun to handle, and the proportions are much better.

Luckily, I haven't had any of the fragility issues you have encountered, despite displaying and constantly transforming it almost non-stop since it was released.

In my opinion, Revenge Of The Fallen and Hunt For The Decepticons lines were the best Movieverse toylines. Extremely good quality for really good prices.

I skipped AOE Leader Prime knowing full well that the 5th movie will deliver better. Instead I got Evasion Prime. It seems the TLK Voyager figure alone justified my feelings. I mean it's no masterpiece but certainly looks better than the Leaders preceding it.

It's quite funny thinking back to when the upscaled TFP cyberverse figures were first announced, Hasbro (can't remember the name of the guy at the time) said that they'd been trying to make Transformers appeal to everyone and failing (such as the ROTF figures being too difficult for children), so henceforth they would be targeting different lines to different markets.

The simplification for kids has definitely happened, we can all agree, but things like the Movie Generations figures (which I'm guessing this figure is part of) don't actually show much commitment to making items aimed at collectors with the paint jobs being minimal and deviating from the on screen appearance. In fact I'd say that if anything they're even more trying to make Generations appeal to too many different people, now stating that they're for adult collectors and older children, which to me explains why they're scrimping on paint so make them cheaper.

If you compare them to something like the Star Wars black series, there doesn't seem to be as much care and attention to detail being put in, which is quite sad when you think Transformers is Hasbro's own property and not licensed to them like Star Wars and Marvel. I don't think in either of those lines would they give the characters as basic as possible deco, only to release them again months later with a screen accurate paint job in a box set like they do with the Platinum Editions (and even half of those aren't any more screen accurate).

Why do they tamper with the pissing colours of Transformers all the time, If it's because "it's hard to paint", paint the bits the colour they should be before you put it together ffs.

i'm probably in the minority but i hated that hftd mold was not too great. parts placement was accurate but the proportions were way off and the arms were seven shades of fucked up.

That actually looks pretty cool. I passed on AOE Leader Optimus, bc I just didn't like it, (So far imo Hasbro hasn't been able to 1-up ROTF Leader Optimus Prime yet). But I think this voyager looks pretty good. Might go well with my Galvatron.
