In Transformers: Prime the concept of Unicron being the core of Earth was introduced. In this teaser trailer we see part of something that resembles one of Unicron's horns in the desert. We also see a giant planet eating thing (I honestly don't know what to call it) attacking the moon. We see a shot of Cade and the others looking up as the surface around them is lifted up and into the air. This may in fact be a Quintesson weapon used to pull up the Earth's surface to reveal Unicron hidden underneath it. Could Unicron actually be the Earth's core? Here are some of my thoughts on how he could be retconned into all of this:

    - Unicron was guiding the Allspark to Earth so that he may "complete" himself. The Allspark consists of life-giving energy and power and, since Unicron is known in several incarnations as the harbinger of death, he could see this as a threat to himself and would want it destroyed.

    - He was the one who turned The Fallen to the "darkside" as it was on Earth where The Fallen betrayed his brothers. Perhaps The Fallen wanted the Matrix not to turn on the Sun Harvester machine but to deliver to his new master, who would then destroy it out of fear of it's power.

    - Now that Optimus Prime, the last living and remaining Prime, is all alone up in space there is no one on Earth who has the possibility of stopping the Quintessons from coming to Earth. The Quintessons sent Lockdown to Earth to retrieve Optimus Prime for the Creators. Once they had him in his possession there would be little opposition to their arrival on Earth (the Autobots bicker amongst themselves too often and do not respect Bumblebee as a leader, making battling the Creators a difficult task). Once at Earth they could use their planet buster to remove the Earth's surface and reawaken Unicron, who could retake his rightful place as ruler of the galaxy (or something cliché like that).

What do you guys think about this idea? I know we've only got the one trailer and a handful of information from the set to go off of but it doesn't hurt to speculate. Sound off below and let me know your thoughts.

The Allspark launched into space winds up on Earth followed by Megatron, henchman of The Fallen who wants to activate his solar harvester/collector. Sentinel Prime and Megatron plan to meet up on Earth so they can transport Cybertron here for rebuilding. The Decepticons staged on the Moon after the Ark crashes. The Creators cyberformed Earth. The Matrix of Leadership was hidden here by the Primes. Numerous waves of Autobots and Decepticons have come to the third rock from the Sun. Lockdown comes to clean up the mess the Transformers have caused over the eons. There is the possibility of the Omega Lock being Stonehenge.

Unicron (if it is him) definitely picked the right planet to devour; one so rich in Transformers/Cybertronian/Primus history.

I'd like to see a plotline adopted from Transformers: Prime and considering that Earth has played a major role in the Transformers main plotline, I hope so.

It was something different. I'm not the biggest fan of Unicron or his Prime interpretation but I'm always up for reinterpretations of characters so long as they make sense. Unicron being the Earth in Prime was something I'm not for or against. It's just there for me but I'm glad they mixed it up a little bit.

    My vote: Maybe.
The "Unicron is Earth" stuff from Transformers: Prime was interesting, but I'm not sure if Transformers: The Last Knight is going to do something similar.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Unicron as earth thing ever. But I did always figure there was a good chance they'd go the TFP route if they tried to introduce Unicron. So don't really want them to go that route but if they chose to I like your ideas.

Here's a possibility what if it's reversed what if that giant planet thing is Unicron and the earth is primes. That's why The Fallen sought to destroy our sun to wipe out the earth and leave primus unable to sustain himself. Even more so maybe Unicron is Cybertron not Primes.

"And now two worlds colliding and only one of them will survive."

A central idea seems to be Earth vs Cybertron. The two worlds and species have been at war probably longer than the Autobots and decepticons. So what if the two worlds are primus and Unicron. What if one created the humans and the other created the transformers. That's why humanity keeps betraying them they are deep down programmed to kill them. What if the two races were never meant to be allies what if they were created to be enemies to destroy each other. What if the transformers and humans are just extensions of the war between Unicron and Primus?

They have been borrowing ideas more from the non-G1 series like animated and prime already.

We don't and I already said I didn't think it was, BUT...

Just saw this and makes me think I might have been wrong...

Transformers: The Last Knight Has Surprising Villain

still surprising. They would build up to the Creators in the last one and then throw Unicron in too. I thought they'd build that up over multiple films. What if they maybe combine the different origins of the Transformers. Perhaps the Quintessons built the Transformers specifically to destroy Unicron (Quints taking the place of the divine Primus) because he represents a threat to the whole Universe.

I don't thibk that was unicron, looked more like ships detatching from a larger body. If anything, I'd say it's the Quints.

"...Because our planet is one of them"
I liked that too. Would make a lot of sense.
And it would beat the hell out of funpubs Gaeia shit.
Maybe Unicron awakens and Optimus and the Quintessons want to stop that, each for their own reasons.
In the aftermath humans and Cybertronians must try to rebuild this world together in a Mad Max like society.

I think there's a few too many people on this site that are mentioning Unicron like he's been comfirmed.

    - Planet eating being about to 'om nom nom' the moon
    - Same planet eating being about to nom Earth
    - Massive 'horn' in the desert
    - Unicron symbolism in under-water Cybertronian thing
    - Purple eyed Optimus, purple-eyed stuff often being connected to 'Dark Energon'
    - Primarily the Quintessons were afraid of Unicron or serving him in most versions

A lot of signs are pointing to Unicron being in TF5 either as set-up for TF6 (Not the Bumblebee film)
