Goodness sake... I\'m normally all for new ideas but these are painfully bad. The lack of paint makes it even worse. I\'m glad these are for kids, that\'s wonderful, it\'s just sad because it\'s more real estate taken from the good stuff. And with January coming in less than a handful of weeks, we\'ll be hitting the slow season again and they\'ll just overload the shelves and pegs. Yay.

I agree wholeheartedly. If they were only a bit better I would have made them into Duocons or something, but this is a whole new kind of bad. Oh, and Bumblebee's 'flight mode' looks so convincing! I never knew partially disassembling your vehicle mode enabled you to fly!

So much hate for toys that are meant for little kids.

If the main line were to be made like these I could understand, but this is just a sub line like one step or three step changers.

So, you guys still think Energon was to focused on the gimmick? Cause these things make Energon figures look like Masterpieces.

Personally I liked Energon's gimmick, but it was the execution that was lacking.

These however are for little kids, so the easier the better.

Same here, Energon was my second Transformers series. My biggest thing is Energon was simple and for kids, so why has Hasbro decided to cut so much? Things for kids can be simple AND good. The Unicron Trilogy proved that.

Yeah, gotta admit that I loved most of the UT gimmicks. They were hit or miss on some of the Armada ones, but I liked the Energon Autobots, and Cyber Keys were mostly pretty great.

    "These are for kids"

I don't know about you, but I didn't like to play with stuff from the toilet as a kid. These aren't cheap either. It's hard to comprehend what exactly they think they are doing here.

Woah that is the worst looking pants I've ever seen, it's literally the vehicle mode broken up.

I mean at least in Energon they tried.

So many grown ass people here bitching about something not meant for them. Why dont you all cmoplain that the rescue bots dont have enough articulation while you are at it? This is just the next step for the line of one steps. If you didnt like the on steps, why would you even care for these? And the comparison to energon is wrong, these arent replacing the warrior class. Its not like we have no other options to get these same character in better molds more for us.

First of all, it's clear these aren't geared toward adults, thats a no brainer. However, I don't think children would be intetested in these except maybe very young, young children. These are completely devoid of any detail or paints whatsoever, I really can't see what anyone would see in them. They look so cheap but likely won't be, at least for what you are getting.

When I was a kid, the kids line was G1, and more recently just look at even Armada, or Cybertron, look how complex they were in comparison to these. These days, kids tastes are even more sophisticated than ours were in the 1980's. With so much competition from hand held electronics and IP's like Five Nights at Freddy's and Minecraft, both with games and extensive toys and merchandise, sadly I feel Transforners have become irrelavent to children these days. I can say this having many children in the family ranging in age from 4 - 11, along with my own child's taste as well as her friends, most of which are boys.

These look terrible. And I've bought most of the RID toys (well, the Warrior-class ones from Adventure, anyway) and even like most of them.

But these... These are barely-painted blobs which are far less exciting than the Armada and Energon toys with similar gimmicks. Sure, everyone complains about those, but they're pretty darn good for their time, and certainly better than whatever the hell these atrocities are meant to be.

Also, making several versions of each character seems like an odd trend. I don't know if it benefits Hasbro at all but it personally just confuses me when there are so many lines and I'm an adult, not the target audience (i.e. children).

Okay, I get the \'these are meant as kids toys\' arguement, but even a kid will notice Bee missing his racing stripes.

Honestly I\'m more interested in the box images of what the characters will (presumably) look like in the show when combined.- seems parts of the \'leg\' bots still end up as bits of the torso.

Say what you will about these toys being kid-focused, but even the Armada and Energon toys people love to hate weren't this barren of paint and inaccurate to the show.

I really think the team doing character design for the show needs to work closely with the toy designers like they did with Animated. Got some of our best toys ever from that era, from an accuracy and engineering standpoint.

What exactly was wrong with beast wars? Way to backhandedly compliment a series that saved the franchise at the time

When exactly was every show its own continuity? We have g1, bw and bm all connected, rid2001 as its own thing, the unicron trilogy all connected, animated as its own thing, prime, rescue bots and rid15 connected and now the machinima prime wars trilogy. So out of 14 shows total released in the us (or confirmed but not released yet) only two shows were ever their own thing.

I would not say that there was anything wrong with Beast Wars, it's the fact that some people at the time complained about the alt mode choices(Trukk not Munky, anyone?). The overall quality was much better than G2, and you're right, it did save the franchise. I was just saying that Beast Wars had some fan backlash, but not for good reasons. There are some good reasons for people to not like this current line, like lower quality and higher prices.

I still think these look kind of fun / neat, even though I understand why a lot of people dislike these.
