At least for me, TR Hot Rod is not a clear cut improvement over Classics Hot Rod. In my mind, TR Roddy barely gets the edge because he's taller. That's it. If both figures were the same height, I'd probably give the edge to Classics. Classics Roddy, despite being a little too chunky/blocky, has an overall more "filled in" and "soldier-y" design aesthetic. TR Roddy looks like a lanky basketball player with fewer interesting design elements-- although this aesthetic does compliment the "rookie/newbie/youthful" identity that Hot Rod is supposed to have.

Just got the Wave 3 Titanmasters, except for Ptero. Fangry's gun mode legitimately looks like he's looking at you as he shoots you with his
    poop shoot
    I just can't unsee it.

    Heheh... Yeah, you're right.
Crap. What is seen can't be unseen. Kind of like Twinferno's sad crotch.

Just picked up a bunch of figures from retail tonight.
Twinferno- not bad, but not as good as I was hoping it would be. The tail section doesn't like to stay tabbed in, but I think that's because of the weak 'hip' clip.
Hot Rod- I wasn't going to get it, but decided to take a shot. Pleasantly surprised all around. I like the transformation, the alt mode is pure Hot Rod, and the bot mode is very nicely articulated and fun. Now, off to kill the Headmaster gimmick...
Triggerhappy- Ah, Triggerhappy. My new favorite of the entire line. Amazing transformation, both modes are fantastic and visually appealing, and the overall package is excellent.
Pterro- Not bad. I really like the gun mode.
Fangry- best of the lot. Both beast modes are loads of fun, and the HM face is a nice shade of green.
The lion one- Meh. It's okay, but I only got it for customizing.

Passed on the other Headmaster since I already have a bunch of that mold, and Getaway because I don't need a repaint of a remold I had no interest in to begin with.

I'm more concerned about Overlord. I think most agree by now, TR Six Shot looks fantastic.

I can't say the same about TR Sky Shadow though......looks like most development budget and attention went to Six Shot and Sky Shadow/Overlord got the B-side treatment; tank mode looks too high/stubby and the robotmode sculpt looks not as refined.

Only hope is that they retool Overlord's version way better.

For the rest.....I'm not a big fan of the TFTM cast, so Kup is my only remaining interest out of those. I'm moreso eager for more 87 - 89 characters getting the TR incarnation.

I'm with you on Roddy. I like the figure quite a bit, but he has some glaring weaknesses.

    1) the titan master head looks as ridiculous as expected. It just doesn't work..... shame, i really like the face sculpt. It's just the entire rest of his head is unpainted gray plastic, and looks pretty terrible from every angle but straight on.

    2) i wish his elbows had more articulation. Just like the classics figure, it only has a 90° bend. A modern figure should have better.

    3) maybe it's just my figure, but his hips are really loose. Easy fix, i know. Still.

His proportions are a little wonky. His arms are super long. I'm also not a fan of his gray plastic torso interior that sticks out. Why isn't this red?

That being said, i love his vehicle mode, and his transformation is fun. I love how streamlined his backpack is (mp-28........).

Since my classics Rod is forever in protector armor, this is my new chug rod. I'm just really hoping a 3rd party makes a suitable head for him. Can't wait to see takara's paint job on him!!!!!

Anyone else have the gold paint on TR Soundwave tape deck just nearly wipe off if you touch it? Raised plastic shouldn't be too hard to touch up, but still lame.

I've got two Walgreens on my way to work. The one has eleven Brainstorms the other has Seven. Wonder if Walgreens marks things down.

    No.

I clean my figures three times a week.

Have looked at the tape deck from various angles.

Still as nice as the day it was unboxed.

Tr scourge part swapped with highbrow and a stock tr scourge as his sweep. Only thing I have left to swap is the elbows but first I need to get a pin punch to be able to swap the elbows. Personally I think the parts swapped scourge looks good enough to not need the legends version

I guess the other is Skorponok, but he's at least 18 months away. Hasbro should have just made him the titan for 2017 instead of letting the fans vote on it. Don't take this the wrong way as I want Trypticon too, but it would have been perfect having Fort Max and Skorponok as the bookends for the Titans Return line.

So, I don't want to introduce something weird within this, but it felt like the best threat to post it in. I just haven't seen it elsewhere.

In case this is still an issue, you can store Highbrow's guns under his wings and use the wheels as landing gear proper by plugging the squarish stock thing on the gun into the hexagonal hole on the underside of the wing. Also, leaving them there is good weapon storage for bot mode, too.

Again, I have seen dozens of people not finding a good way to store them, and even the CG on the back of the box has them wrong. I hope this wasn't painfully superfluous. Regardless, he's a great dude, and I've noticed a heft to him that was lacking for a long while.

I had always wondered about the wheels on the guns but never thought about landing gear for some reason. Thanks!
