    This sounds a lot like the updates from the production team of "Star Trek: Renegades" (which I have on DVD but still haven't watched)

    I wasn't aware that Fuller had left the show. That sucks, but getting Yeoh is definitely a win for them. Hopefully the rest of the casting is going smoothly and they get some good talent signed on. As for who she'll play, I honestly doubt she'll be this main character, Number One, that we've heard about. I think they'll likely go for a younger actress for that part, and that Yeoh will be someone higher up the ranks.

    I know her better as Wei Lin in James Bond, either way she's a great actress and I hope she's a permenant member of the cast.

    Hilarious pun aside, one report I read said her character was a captain. Not the captain of the Discovery, but a captain.

    HELLBOY's Doug Jones And Theater Actor Anthony Rapp Join The Cast Of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY

    Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) and Anthony Rapp (Rent, Junction) have joined the cast of Star Trek: Discovery. Jones will play "Lt. Saru, a Starfleet Science Officer and a new alien species to the Star Trek universe," while Rapp has been cast as astromycologist, fungus expert, and Starfleet Science Officer Lt. Stamets, who will be the franchise's first originally conceived gay character.

    Abe Sapien and a theatre actor. Should be good.

    Considering who they chose for the Captain and the time period, maybe they are going back to a Kirk style captain who gets into epic fist fights. I doubt they will let her have Kirk's habit of losing his shirt though.
